8:47 and Scott just called... He snuck around the back way and went to his home... he ran into NO roadblocks... His house is fine....

He upset Snort by waking him up---- playing with him, feeding him and giving him his desert of cookies..

All is well there... no fires nearby.... None headed his way... The information he'd been given was all in error.

Said he would have liked to have just stayed there and spent the night....but didn't want to chance fire sneaking up on them and trapping them in there.. They are back at the motel....

But, they are feeling much better about the whole situation.... and looking like all will be well.

Thank you for all your prayers for he and the other Texas people going through this siege of wildfires.

Whew! For now, Mama feels better.

Joella,

So sorry to hear about the scare your son is having with the wild fires. Which fire is he battling. We have been taking care of 30 horses at the Montgomery County fairgrounds that have been evacuated from the Magnolia, Tri County wild fire. So scary. Everything around here is dried up and dying. We so need rain.

Prayers for all that are affected

Scott got to go home. The fire got within a mile of his home and every time it needed to, the wind would change and blow it AWAY from his home direction. He picked up five dogs and bird... surprising how much more time I have now... Grin.

Darcie-- Scott was threatened by the Waller County portion of the Tri-county fires, by Reeds Prairie and Clarke Roads.

Good of y'all to Volunteer with the care of 30 horses! Y'all are good people!!

Hope the evacuation is over for all.... and no need to have another one..

God Bless all those in our nation who are suffering hard times.

AND God Bless our nation!

Joella

31 minutes ago – The Texas Forest Service is reporting that approximately 429 homes have been destroyed in the 38 large fires that are currently burning.

************************************************************************************************************

Due to our drought, many local ponds and stock tanks are dry- So there is little available water to fight the fires. Winds are gusting to 25 mph... Plus, wildfires "make" stronger winds, and one fire 40 miles from us is 16 miles long.

We have no rains projected until late September, if then.

Pray for our state, please.

Praying for the whole State of Texas. Breaks my heart.
