Looks likes everyone is busy! I know we are....or should be we have a full campground...but noone leaving and noone coming in so it's been a easy week besides we have Weds. and Thurs. off so even if there was something to do someone else ould need to do it...We have a huge family reunion going on they are taking up I think 9 of our 14 sites...and I think all the atv's are theres and there are 24 of them out there! AVT's aren't allowed in the campground so we have a 'parking' lot for them it's full and overfilled. Went for a drive today and was looking at all of the wild flowers and the colors....purples, whites, yellows, reds and pinks. So pretty found the put in to float box canyon think it would be fun have to figure out the logistics of it though when there are just the two of us and we are both in the raft how do we get to our truck when it's up river a lot of miles so need to beg for a ride from the take out to the put in.. We are having a family reunion this weekend the kids will be here on Sat and leave on Tues although I'm guessing that some of them will leave on Mon due to jobs.. But how good it is that most of them have jobs...Have one daughter who was laid off almost two years ago and is still looking but she has high hopes now hopefully they will pan out...My aunt passed away this past monday and am feeling bad that with distance and how busy the campground is on Sat and not to mention the reunion can't go to the funeral..so Friday day of the funeral will make cinnamon rolls for the reunion and think of my aunt...

So come on tell us what is keeping you all so busy? What you are doing to beat the heat? We don't have to beat the heat yet it was somewhat chilly today..kept the heater on longer than normal...it's been warm enough that we haven't had the heat on the last couple of mornings until today and just closed the door as it's cooled off some may even go and close the windows!

Take care and come visit soon

Neat a guest family reunion has given you two an easier work week...with all in there to stay and no ins and outs to clean up after.

Good y'all are having a family reunion of your own as well.. that will be fun.. yes, it is good all your kids but one are working in this poor economy. Some are working jobs they don't much care for... but there are times one just has to be thankful they are working.

How nice to go wildflower looking and touring. I love doing that. I'm sure you can find someone who'll help you float box canyon.

Sorry you lost your aunt. That is bad.

We've been busy with the granddaughter's little trailer and got it moved into the park. Before she could get it rented, someone moved in for a baseball tourney and they won... so stayed over two days longer. No matter, she had a place to live till she got the trailer moved in. We are going there Sunday with the last of things to get trailer all set up right.. and giving her more things...like little electric oven, mixer, toaster, electric skillet, Crockpot, cube heater, etc. ... All the things we had in our RV and no longer use.

Gave her some easy recipes too.. they don't cook much at her home... relying on take home junk food. Teaching her to cook and to freeze a portion of it... to have 3-4 meals from one cooking.

I will get more photos of the trailer in it's home.. and maybe even some of family on Sunday.

Today is running buddies Birthday and took her out for Chinese Buffet and took along her gift. She is a special friend. That new place has the best Chinese I have ever eaten anywhere. Just love it!

Enjoy the day all... and thanks for this post, Sheila... hope you get lots of replies so we all can find out what our Forum Sisters are doing.

Some in Texas got rain... Not us!!

Hugs!

Joella

Been very busy this summer! Latest thing was a camp-out with my cousin, sister and I this past weekend. We met in Central IL at a campground near Danville. On Saturday our 2 brothers drove over and spent the day with us. We 'let' them buy lunch AND cook it for us!! Aren't we nice? LOL It was HOT! and my cousin kept saying...I'm not sweating...my sister and I have decided there is something majorly wrong with her! We had a nice time except the tent was one we had never put up before and gave us some problems. The instructions were hard to read and had all the poles listed in letters (A,B, etc) and the poles were marked with colors! We finally just sorted everything and looked at the tent and matched things up where they needed to go. We have decided that we don't think we will be using that tent very often! My daughter and her family are on vacation for 2 weeks so they have been here a couple days this week but drove to MO today to spend time with friends before heading back to AZ on Thursday I believe. I will be heading back that way near Labor Day after my time here in IN with my younger daughter. I don't have any other palns soon other than my sister-in-law is planning a surprise birthday party for my youngest brother's 50th bday....she wants to have it before I leave and it will be a surprise...his birthday is in Nov!

Hi everyone

I am glad all of you are doing well and staying busy. It has been very hot here for the last two weeks and just miserable to be out in it. I have been trying to keep up with all the yard work and gardening, but its not enjoyable in the heat. Other than that I have been staying in the A/C keeping cool and doing a little reading and playing Words with Friends on my Ipad.

We will have a family reunion over the weekend at a state park in Ohio. I am hoping it will cool down for it, but its not looking too good right now. Here is a picture that I took there last year , that is the Ohio River in the background.

Take care everyone and hope you have a great weekend.

Lynn

Not much going on except it rains some almost every day. Can't believe Joella still isn't getting rain. I finally made it to the grocery store yesterday but without my list. That makes me so mad when I do that. I was walking around with it and when I got to town I didn't have it. I had an appointment to get my hair cut this afternoon so picked up what I forgot plus some.

Joella, since you talked about your granddaughter's decorating theme I notice Zebra print. I saw someone walking out of Hobby Lobby with a Zebra print foot stool. They also have some other things.

No plans for this weekend except there is another craft show so will probably go to that. Sheila, have fun with your family at the reunion.

I'm in Newton, Iowa, today - slowly making my way to Colorado. Guess it has been awhile since I last posted, although I have been keeping up with all of you. Spent the month of June in West Virginia with my son and his family. Then meandered my way to northern Ohio where I spent a few days on the shores of Lake Erie, on to Elkhart, IN, where I visited the RV Hall of Fame and had some work done on my MH. Spent another long weekend with friends in Illinois, journeyed on to the Amana Colonies in Iowa for a couple of days and now here I am in Newton. Why Newton? Maytag blue cheese! It is made here and I wanted to see where it is made. It is so good - if you haven't tried it you are missing out on a treat!

Have a bunch of writing to do for the park where I live in Texas - my work camping job - so decided this was a good place to hang out for another day and get that done. Of course, here I am writing emails and reading the forum instead of working. I've got to get my whip out soon and get myself busy.

Have no idea where I am headed next - only that it will be west!

Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Hello, Everyone! It's been a very busy summer! I just got back from a 2 week rv trip with my 2 sisters. We went to Carlsbad Caverns, Santa Fe, Grand Canyon, & Sedona before heading home. Did some wonderful things including seeing Faust at the Santa Fe Opera. My nieces were teasing us about taking an rv trip to go to the opera; they said those 2 images don't jibe, but I beg to differ! Then we stayed at the Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in Williams, AZ and rode the train 65 miles to the south rim. Great fun! After that, we drove to Kingman, AZ & rented a car & drove to Grand Canyon West & took a walk on the skywalk! Grand Canyon West is not easy to get to but well worth the effort. Incredible views & a much wilder feel to it than the more commercialized south rim. It's on Hualipai land & is run by the Indians; not part of the national park. Great views of the Colorado River! Even if you don't do the glass walkway out over the canyon, it is definitely worth the visit!

After that, we spent 3 days in Sedona at Rancho Sedona RV Park, one of the most beautiful rv parks I've seen. Nestled between the red rocks and Oak Creek in a great location. Small & very quite. Our site #75 backed right up to a cool, clear swimming hole in the creek under very tall birch trees. Very shady! And a family of blue herons lives high in the trees! At night we watched the full moon rise behind Snoopy Rock! I really wanted to spend the rest of the summer right in that spot & I will definitely be going back!

It was a wonderful time spent with my 2 sisters! They had never taken a trip like that before & they both decided they like the rv way to travel! I've got some great photos I could post if only I could remember how!

Happy Trails!!! Liz

Hi Liz,

I was wondering what you were up to. Sounds like a great trip. I went to some of the same places and hope to make another trip West sometime.

made cinnamon rolls today still have one pan in the oven just took the last pan out all of 4 on it...recipe makes 72 give or take a few! Now to take care of them so that they aren't dried out by the time they get here tomorrow. Found out that one two daughters a son in law and a granddaughter will be here tonight. One of the campers told me as I came in from taking some frozen chili and put in the cooler in the truck that they saw a bear right outside our 5th wheel a couple of hours before...and we didn't see it nor did we see the moose at our table late one night campers had to tell us about that as well. Looking forward to our kids being here thought for awhile that one wouldn't be able to make it but they worked it out so she will be here so tickled about that you all have a good day
