Hello,

I leave Thursday morning heading towards Livingston, TX. I will be attending the Escapees RV Boot Camp. I have been waiting almost a year to attend this Boot Camp. Have any of you attended the Escapees RV Boot Camp?

Here is the agenda for the Boot Camp:

Rainbow’s End RVers' Boot Camp Schedule

November 5-7, 2010

Welcome to the program! We are glad you are here! This is the seminar and event schedule for RVers' Boot Camp. The main RVers' Boot Camp educational program consists of eight seminars; however, first-time RVers or trainees who wish to review very basic RV concepts (like what a sewer hose is and how you hook it up) may optionally attend RV Basic Systems as an additional elective. This is a very basic course, so if you already know your black water from your grey water, you can probably skip it. Basic RV Systems will be held before the RVers' Boot Camp welcome ceremony.

All seminars and ceremonies will be held in the clubhouse.

Please check your map!

Friday, November 5

11:00 am - 3:00 pm Arrive / park / register

1:15 pm - 2:30 pm RV Basic Systems elective course for new RVers (optional)

Friday notes:

Please plan to get a bite to eat before the welcome ceremony begins. Once we kick off the program, you probably won’t get a chance to eat dinner until 7 p.m. or later.

8:00 am - 9:30 am RV Systems, Part 2

9:45 am - 12:00 pm RV Weight and Load Management

1:00 pm - 2:30 pm RV Hitch-up tips

2:45 pm - 5:45 pm Fire and Life Safety

5:45 pm - 7:00 pm Dinner with instructors and staff at the clubhouse.

7:00 pm - 8:00 pm "Ask a Full-timer" roundtable at the clubhouse.

7:00 pm - ??? Campfire gathering

Saturday notes:

Dinner will be provided for all Boot Camp participants. Lunch is up to you. The Fire and Life Safety seminar may run a bit long, but you’ll really enjoy the live fire demonstrations!

Wish I could go to the boot camp with you but I'm saving my travel credits for Schertz. I joined Escapees several years ago and have yet to make it to Livingston. I have had to learn rving by trial and error. Mostly error. lol I think I learn something on every trip, like our last. Now we know what to do if the converter goes out.

Carolyn - What a great learning experience you are in for. You probably already know lots of the stuff but this will just reinforce everything. Enjoy and let us know all the tips you learn.

If I hadn't already had a trip planned for this weekend I would be there with you. Figure there is always something new to learn. I'm in Galveston serving as bed and board for my two cycle riders. There is a big rally here every year with 300,000 riders expected. Everyone here in the RV park has at least one parked by their RV.
