Hoping all of y'all have a wonderful and fun Labor Day. We are not celebrating-- but I will be packing today. I plan to leave at 5 AM in the morning, heading for Nebraska. We have 80% chance of rain projected. We've had that prediction--- and now there is a Tropical storm to hit Mexico around the Texas border. Being on the "dirty side", we have even more chance of rain. We need it, but I hope to get out ahead of it...and move faster than the storm.
Milt and the girls will be here, holding down the fort. He chose not to go...doesn't want to and also doesn't want "the girls" to be alone and crated in a motel room for extended periods. That's his story and he's sticking to it!! Grin.
I will be staying with friend, Mary--- along with three others--- We are Mary's cook/work crew for the Pen Pal Picnic we are attending. This is about the 27th year Mary has hosted this and many are coming. Most I have known for years--- been in their homes across the nation, and they in ours. Neat, fun, great bunch of gals... I am SO looking forward to it!!! We have been close for so many years....we all raised our kids together.. and now we are grandmothers. 
Will be gone a week, and don't know if I'll be on here. Taking the laptop, but depends on connections. The girls will fill the local motel rooms and if it is like previous years..they have free connections and I can sit in the parking lot and get on-line. But, we are pretty busy-- having fun.
We eat out a lot, and on Friday, Sat and Sunday a building at the Fairgrounds is rented..and we eat and visit some more. More Fun!!
