We had a simply neat week..a busy week but a wonderful one!

Sunday we had DH's sister and her husband arrive had supper at our house and planned our two days together!

Monday we did some site seeing here in Island Park then headed via Mesa Falls to Tetonia and then on to Jackson to go to the Bar J Wranglers...what entertainment they are and supper along with it!

We stopped on our way to visit with our daughter and family that live in Tetonia ...wasn't there long but had an enjoyable visit...We got home from Jackson about 11:30 then in-laws still had to go to West Yellowstone. Long day but was so nice

then on Tuesday we got in the truck and drove around the area...when we knew they were coming was hoping that they would stay awhile and we could get a ATV and see more but they could only stay a short while and so we went up Sawtell Peak...very high up from the top we could even see the Tetons in WY but it was hazy and so didn't take pictures...a wild fire some where in ID was blocking the view but we could see through the haze MT and or course WY then on other roads where we saw lots and lots of trees.,... then we floated the river was so much fun want to go again..but noticed the 'yacht' was deflating so will have to check it out and see why...

Had a campfire then said our goodbyes as they were headed back to IA. Amazed us that they came all that way and stayed two days..

Then on Friday our son and granddaughter and our youngest daughter came up to see us. So Sat we got in the truck and went to Yellowstone after we had our work all done...saw Old Faithful and came back stopped at the grocery store in West and came home...got out of town just as a micro burst hit...lots of rain turning to almost hail and got home to lots of mud..our daughter and kids came up for supper...made there fav... salmon patties...wanted to have a campfire but it wouldn't start wonder why??

well that was my weekend in a nut shell...how was yours?

What a wonderful week you had, Sheila! Can't beat family coming and then joining the Bar J Wranglers at their ranch for good ole music and BBQ ain't bad either! LOVE that place!! We never get tired of going to Yellowstone! Wonderful place!

Ours was nice too! Had Chinese Buffet lunch with granddaughter on Tuesday...and she was by for a visit on Saturday. We had some cooler mornings, and worked outside two days...First one, weeding a huge flowerbed--- and Friday, we installed a new station on our Lawn Sprinkling System..and now we have sprinklers in the area of lawn we cleared of underbrush and wild vines last year. When it gets cooler, I want to scope out some fruit trees of some sort to plant in that area. We really enjoy our Orange tree. Our Lemon tree didn't make this past winter's record breaking low temps, so may replace it. I'll study it--- would rather have a lime tree. Like to cook with lime juice.. I've heard there is an avocado that will grow in our zone too. Milt eats one every day...so they are always on our grocery shopping list.

We went on our first do-nothing ride in the new truck yesterday... Just rode local backroads and soaked in the "country". Hadn't done that in a spell. Doesn't take much to entertain us!

Happy RVing All Y'all!!

Joella

Sheila and Joella, it is so nice you have family come to visit. I changed RV sites from Madison WI to IN. Traveled about 347 miles on Sat. More than I usually like to do, but had a Clive Cussler book on tape that made the miles just melt away. My cell phone is very iffy here and I have been booted off the internet more than once. I hate it when I can't stay or am not connected. My son has decided he is taking his Mom to Rome in Jan. I know....January! but that is the only time he can get time off. He is low man on the totem pole. Doesn't bother me what month, I will bring a coat and gloves. I love to travel. He has not had a vacation in 10 and has never been to Rome. I went to Rome quite a few years ago when my cousin Janice and I took 3 weeks and backpacked to Europe. Mike and I have been burning up the phone lines until my phone decides to stop working, then we switch to emails. I guess he can hear me on my end, but I can't hear anything. Very frustrating to talk to blank air. He doesn't get off work until 9, so I have been up till midnight every night. Good thing I am retired and can sleep in. I must admit, I am missing family. I usually do about now after being on the road for months. I am OK as long as I stay fairly busy. The next county up has about 40 covered bridges. I am going to take Maggie with me and do some of the drives. Not much else in this area. I did drive over to Paris IL to get a car wash and even spotted a Super Walmart. I had to buy bottled water as they are flushing the lines with chlorine, tomorrow and Wed. They will have a boil water in effect until they get an all clear. Looks like I will need to buy more water, I thought it would be good to go by Thurs. but apparently not. Filled my on board tank so I have water for showers etc, but I won't drink it. When we finally get good water, I am going to chlorinate my tank then run it through my lines. Then fill with fresh water and dump it also. I haven't done that in quite some time and it needs it. Looks like I will not be washing clothes her for awhile too. That is my week so far. Not to exciting.

I had a busy week too. I left on Monday heading for New Jersey for my son's retirement ceremony from the Air Force. It was a long trip but I'm glad I got to attend. It was really a nice ceremony. He was in the Air Force for 20 years and is 42. He will be coming back to Louisiana in a couple of months. Will be nice to have him back close to home.

My grandson was on vacation in Turkey so had to hang around a few days so I would get to see him. I am heading out in the morning for home. I'm not going to try to make it in 3 days, that was too hard. I want to go down the Blue Ridge Parkway for a ways. Hope hurricane Earl doesn't come too close to the US and I run into some rain.

On Saturday I went to a flea market for a couple of hours. Mostly the usual junk but there was an Amish market that was interesting. They had all kinds of cakes, candy, bread, cheese and meat. The line to pay was too long or I would have bought something. Then my son took me by a store that sold furniture made by the Amish. It was beautiful furniture.

I've had a great couple of weeks. Sharon was here the weekend of the 20th....that's already been discussed in another thread. Last Thursday-Sunday three of my friends and I had our "no-husbands-no-kids gtg"! We were a little slow planning this year and couldn't make reservations at the resort that we went to last time...so we ended up taking two campers a whole 20 miles from home and had a great time. Tonight I've been packing the 5er again..after work tomorrow Dennis and I are heading to Randall Creek for four nights for the annual Labor Day GTG with friends. My sister will be joining us...with her dog....Radar will not be a happy camper since she has to share her camper with her cousin!
