At the Aransas Pass GTG we tried to figure out what to call our little group and couldn't really come up with anything. Many of us are are on the forum, some on chat, some belong to RVWomen, some just like to RV. We come from several different groups. Then after my long drive from Texas to West Virginia, after I had plenty of time to think, I came up with the following idea and sent it out to most of the gals who had been there. My apologies to Martha and Lynn - I didn't have your emails. Hope someone forwarded this to you. The response I got back was yes, let's go for it. Wanted to share it with the rest of the forum sisters, because anyone who wants is welcome to be a Pink Flamingo - you just have to enjoy RV travel. This was my email.

I've had a lot of alone windshield time to think about what a great weekend I enjoyed with all of you in Aransas Pass, and thinking of what Karen and I could come up with in November. Well, as you might have guessed, my mind wandered and I got to thinking about what we could call ourselves. Several years ago flamingos were the talk of the forum - in fact someone even suggested a logo, but I don't know if that ever happened. I even have a pair of pink flamingo/travel trailer flannel pj's thanks to Trudy, Mollysmom.

Anyway, what would you think about calling ourselves, "The Pink Flamingos." Because we are all extreme individuals, we wouldn't really need an official logo - we could each express our "flamingoness" as we wanted. Anything from a cheap pink t-shirt to a collection of flamingo bling. The guys, like Milt and Vic and others who might accompany their pink flamingos to a gathering, flocking or whatever they call a group of flamingos, could be "blue flamingos" or whatever other color they wanted. We're just a group of gals some from the forum, some from RVW, and some who just like to RV - so no membership, dues, etc., just getting together for fun and a reason to go somewhere. Of course, the forum is the most logical place to inform others of our GTGs.

So, I'm anxious to hear comments from the rest of you. It seems like everytime I turn around I'm finding flamingo "stuff" that I just have to have, however, so far I have been able to resist. After all there is just so much room in a class B. Trust me though, I'm sure by the next time I see any of you I will have acquired a bit of flamingo kitsch.

I can only hope that I'll be able to meet up with all of you, but I love your idea Sue! We do come from various places - I don't belong to any organization anymore. I realized all I needed I could find on the forum, and on chat. I'd love to be a flamingo!

Joella, of course, already has her little logo - I'll have to work on this! As an absentee member of the group - I vote yes!

Welcome Pink Flamingo Kerry! You can have flamingo flockings in Oregon or Quartzsite. Flamingos don't have to flock together just in Texas. However, we would love to have you, and who knows, some Texas flamingos might stray farther west to flock together with you.

Of course, we would love to have you as a Pink Flamingo, the more the merrier. I noticed that you are new to the forum and I hope that you will visit often and let us get acquainted with you. Would love to have you join us at one of our "flockings." Many times the campgrounds have rentals for those who don't have RVs.

Oh no, Kerry....that little Flamingo is not my logo!!! I was just playing around on the computer, and saw the Thanksgiving Flamingo- so since Sue and Karen plan the next Rally in November, inserted that month's logo.

Here is a logo I like... I love the colors in it, and have sent a photo to my guy that makes vinyl things to put on RV's, cars , trucks, etc. He'll do this sign for me for only $8 in an 11X14 size. I plan to put it on a little sheet of plexiglas...and hang as a sign. It WILL easily peel off your motorhome, if you no longer need it. I have not ordered it, as am still playing with what text I want on it.

The beauty of Sue's Pink Flamingo group is there is NO official logo....the members can use their own favorite flamingo.....or use none at all!!! Entirely up to each individual--- and as Sue said be fun to check out others offerings
I can have this made in an 11X14 for $8. That's cheap enough, isn't it? They take orders over the internet...send him the photo you want copied.... he charges to Visa and mails it out. My last one he made for me.... he did extra "art work on it"....I wanted the Texas shaped flag with letters around it and bluebonnets on it..and he made this.... I had found some bluebonnets to superimpose over the Texas flag....but he found better in his artwork... he is so good to work with, so kind.... charged me NO set up fees....he just does it on a computerized machine.... We had ours as a spare tire cover on the back of the trailer..
