As I drive along, I'm seeing our hills and pastures green. Our trees are greening out. It's been in the mid 70's and all looks so springy and good. BUT, tonight a freeze is predicted!!! What is this??

Wish I could see some pecan trees up close. If they have the teeniest little bud on them, if will not freeze. I like winter, since ours in this part of Texas are very mild---- however this has been a tough winter for our natiion....and we are tired of it and ready for change!

Ever the optomistic... I know it's coming.

As I've driven daily this week, there are some large patches of the rosy red Phlox beside the highway about 5 miles from our home. I saw a huge field of some lavender flowers up at Somerville, TX these last 3 days. Yesterday when I got off 290 in Brenham, heading south on 36 the entire bar ditch beside the highway had burst out into bluebonnets during the day! It's just marvelous to see!

Makes my world a lot brighter and cheery! Hang in there Forum Sisters. Springs a coming!!

Happy RVing!

Joella

My daughter in Col.Spgs. said it was 70degrees on Wednesday and Thurs nite they had a snow storm!

Very odd weather this past year...I just hope it keeps hurricanes away this summer, I have too many travel plans to run home and get the house prepared!

Yes, Joella, spring is around the corner!

Spring is certainly upon us :) The red buds are bloomin and all the flowering trees. Now, if it would just stop raining enough and warm up a bit so I can take a scooter ride and get some pictures! Stay tuned.

Love,

Sharon

This crazy weather! It was in the 70's yesterday and in the 30's last night. The line of thunderstorms came through last night. We just got the tail end of it but the wind was really blowing. It's still windy this morning.

I hope we get to see some Bluebonnets when we go to Texas in April. I don't know if they grow near the coast. I have tried several times to plant them here but they never come up. Guess they don't like Louisiana. I know up around Brenham the hills are beautiful in the spring.

Our daffodils are past, the streets are covered in "pink petal pollution" LOL, and the tulips are almost opened. I even took a ride on my scooter 25 miles into the city yesterday and did not freeze!!...must be spring :) !!

According to the forecast we're suppose to get up to 54 today and 63 tomorrow! I took Monday off so I plan to enjoy it! Snow drifts and piles are slowly disappearing...but some of them have turned into a glacier type consistency so it will take awhile. Did notice that my sedum on the south side of the house next to the foundation is starting to come up...but the tulips are still under a pile of snow. Since our last major blizzard was April 4 last year....I'm not going to put away the shovels and winter coats quite yet!

Jan, I know you claim to not be a photo taker but I am thinking you need to start practicing! When that Grandbaby gets here we MUST have photos! So...get out there and start taking some to practice!!

Linda I wasn't on fun runs----- but duty calls, so was flying low with no time to smell the roses (nor take photos)! However, spring is still coming....we have more and more wildflowers blooming in the bar ditch in front of the house... Indian Paintbrushes and Bluebonnets.

We noticed yesterday the pecan trees are budding out and have a faint haze of green showing. That means no more freezes for us. So...Spring IS definitely on the way!

I hope it makes it soon to everyone else's area before long too.

Happy Spring!!

Joella
