Hubby and I were talking about all the wonderful places to visit in this wonderful country we live in. This led to trips we'd like to take in our new home on wheels. His was Maine, mine was anywhere not in the state of Florida! If you could pick one place that you have visited, but would love to go back to spend more time, where would that place be? What made it special to you? I've travelled most of my life, being a military brat, a military member and then married military. I do have favorite spots all over the globe, but funny thing is, I've not travelled extensively in the US. I'd like to hear from you wonderful women of adventure on your favorite places!

One of our favorite places is Jackson, WY and nearby Yellowstone National Park. We have been there many times and ten years ago worked in Jackson for five summers and one winter! We went to Yellowstone often, and NEVER tired of it.

Yellowstone is simply Amazing. But so is that whole Wyoming area.

All the years we were in business, we vacationed often in the state of Colorado. We could get there in one long day's drive--- and it was a cool retreat from the heat of Texas summers. We have been all over that state... seems like on every little backroad!

We love the mountain states. Another favorite place is Custer, S.D. We stayed there for an extended time frame and toured all the nearby areas, such as Mt. Rushmore.

We like Branson, MO.. Lovely area...and we enjoyed going to Springfield and on the way there, or back, stopping off at Lambert's Cafe, Home of the Throwed Roll! Wonderful food and atmosphere!

We traveled through Maine on our way to the Maritime Peninsula, and were impressed. We thought we'd like to go back there one day and tour the whole state...particularly the coastal area. Can't wait for some Mainer to tell me "A-yup"!!!!! Grin.

The list simply goes on AndiJean, and I can hardly wait for you to experience it and fully enjoy!

Happy Travels!

Joella

New England. I was there a couple of years ago and loved traveling through the little towns and seeing the Victorian homes and little churches with tall steeples. Taking photos of the lighthouses along the coast and stopping for the wonderful food. I was traveling by car but would love to go back in the RV and spend more time. There were so many historical places to see and the scenery was wonderful.

when we started full timing really thought that we would travel so much and see so much of this country and as usually we are underfunded :( and hubby seems to think he has to go back to his home state every year so all roads where ever we may be head to Iowa....I grew up in Jackson Wy. one of my favorite places is String Lake my kids say mom shhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't tell any one and as I look at the hoards of people say why they all ready know! but even if there are lots of people there it doesn't seem like it and it is such a pretty lake

We've winter in Quartzsite AZ for the past 3 winters and totally enjoy it others say why not sure but it grabbed us and others it doesn't.......

and last summer as well as the one coming we camp host in Island Park Id another beautiful place on earth

I always thought I had the best of the world grew up in Jackson Wy. (Grand Teton National Park) and visited grandparents in the black hills which are so pretty been to Branson would go back there in a heart beat.....And so much of this country I want to see any place east of Ill and south and the pacific northwest parts of Cal oh and in your must see list put Ut lived there for 30 years and its so pretty lots of must see spots!

I have been so blessed to have traveled all around this gorgeous country of ours. It would be impossible to find a favorite place, but Maine would have to be near the top of any list. Especially Acadia Nat'l Park and the rest of Mt. Desert Island. No matter how many times I go there, I always want to go back. But only visit Maine in summer! My Nana lived in Maine and breaking ice off the surface of a bowl isn't my thing!

All of the National Parks - each has its own special charm and the scenery can't be beat. Our country has a lot of variety and there isn't another country in the world that has such diversity of travel.

Don't forget our wonderful cities. You can find great camping spots outside almost any city and use the subway, metro, even a bus to bring you right into the heart of things. Washington D.C., San Francisco, New York, Boston, New Orleans, on and on.

And what, pray tell, is wrong with Florida? Ya can't beat Daytona for a beach, the Everglades for environmental education, Miami's nightlife, the Panhandle's serenity, and the Keys? Don't have to live there with the humidity, bugs and critters to enjoy being a tourist in Florida!

Just head off in a compass direction and enjoy!

Evie, I'd have to agree-hard to pick just one or two places-they all are special in their own way. And being from Florida, love it here too. The southwest, with Arches, Canyonland, Bryce, Zion, Milliondollar Highway, slot canyone, etc. Don't forget the northwest with Oregon, Washington, Montana, and then there's Alaska, Canada, California, the desert, Grand Canyon, etc. And of course the east coast and, and, and. Not much out there not to like-all different, but all beautiful. Not sure, I can answer that question. carold
