Hope she is able to stay nice and warm because it looks like they are really getting quite a storm on the East coast.

My son is doing good. They took all his drains out today and he is up and moving around. We should get out of the hospital on Monday.

It started snowing about and hour and a half ago and it looks like there is about an inch. We are in down town Pillly and could see the tall buildings before it started snowing but not any more. This will be a new experience for me. The most snow I have been in before is about 3". I didn't bring warm enough clothes and my coat isn't heavy enough so I won't be building any snow men.

Some of us talked to Martha last night on our Chat.

She didn't mention it but her son did not have to have the chest opened, they were able to access the heart valve from an incision between two ribs! That is just WAY good as far as recovery from the surgery! How fortunate he is!!

Also, he is in a private room, and they moved in a cot for Martha, so she spends nights and days in his room. Her only complaint is the food. WHY does this not surprise everyone! :)

I pray he recovers speedily!

Glad to hear Martha's son is better. The type of surgery makes all the differents. Its great that she can be in the room with him. Did that for 2 months with my Mom, funny thing was in the hospital she was in the food was great. They would also bring an extra tray for whom was staying with her. Just the Doctors weren't worth a plug nickle. Prayers that he continue to improve.

We are still at the hospital with hopes of going home today. You know how fast they work at hospitals and we haven't seen the doctor yet today. They want his blood levels to be at a certain level so that will be the only hold up. It is suppose to snow again tomorrow night and Wednesday so hope we can get home before that starts or we will be here longer. We are getting cabin fever just waiting around.

I hope all his numbers are good ones, Martha so y'all can get outa there! No one wants to stay in a hospital. Since Scott didn't have his chest majorily cut open, did he get the red heart shaped pillow? Milt got one and he thought it was just a "heart gift"... One day the man who gave the breathing treatments came by to give him one. He saw the pillow and he said "Did they tell you what that is for? Milt said they didn't. It's to hold against your chest when you cough to put pressure on the chest cavity and help with the pain. Your son may not need that with his whole chest not being opened. Milt hugged his often the next month or so.

Wishing y'all all good things.... and a very fast recovery!!! Take care and know we are thinking of you!
