I got a call from the Coach Care people and they gave me an estimate on my new fridge for the MH. Not cheap but not as much as I thought. It will fit through the door and not have to go through the windshield. I decided not to get an ice maker. The old one had it but I never used it. It took up a lot of space that I really needed for other things. When I camp I either take some ice from home or buy a bag where I am going. I sometimes will share it with someone else.

I do mostly dry camping or some call it boondocking. Maybe if I went south for the winter and stayed in one place I would like the ice maker but I know I won't miss it.

You know something that I wish I knew more about is convection microwaves. Mine has one but I have not had the time to experiment with it. I really don't know how to use mine yet. Someday.

My latest mission is to learn how to use my convection oven. I cooked some frozen biscuits in it yesterday and they came out pretty good. For some reason the side toward the middle of the pan rose higher than the outside edge. I even learned how to preheat it and everything. When all else fails read the book. lol I need to get a larger pan that will still rotate on the turntable. It seems to be hotter than the temperature I set. The package called for 375 degrees but the biscuits browned pretty fast. Next time I'll try them at 350.

I am suppose to be able to broil in mine but I tried that with a hamburger patty once and it took a long time and didn't come out very good.

Having had an icemaker in our "Motorhome from He$$".....I understand your opting not to get one this time---- they do take up a lot of room...Like you, I buy a bag or bring one from home.

I would like to hear more about your boondocking, and see photos of the areas you stay. We have never done a lot of that. Do you boondock for long periods?

I am thinking that learning to use a convection microwave is just practice, practice, practice. I don't have a convection microwave in our house or trailer.... I used to use our microwave strictly for warming over leftovers. However, with the before mentioned practice...I've learned to cook with it fairly well. I steam all my veggies in it. Most days my sausage and two egg breakfast is cooked in one..and takes me 1 1/2 minutes. I love boneless, skinless chicken breast and catfish filets cooked in the microwave. Beef doesn't do as well. Or perhaps it is me...and I've not practiced enough!!! Grin.

Milt had been eating scrambled sandwiches for a few days for breakfast....and from across the room he saw me taking something out of the microwave and put it on his plate and asked what was? I told him was his scrambled eggs and he said "What if I don't like it?".... told him "Well, You've been eating them for a week".... enough said.

Happy RVing Day!
