Well, living fulltime in the motorhome, I guess we are ALWAYS at home, but we are back in Whitney, Tx. We left last Friday to go to Hords Creek, a park in west Texas near Abilene. A couple that we had worked with several times here in Whitney are working there and we needed a getaway. Had a wonderful time visiting and drove to Buffalo Gap, Tx one day to visit the Historic Village there. It is really a nice place with historic buildings from 1800's thru 1925 complete with furniture, artifacts and vintage automobiles. There is a church, a house, a log cabin, a Doctor's office, a dentist's office, train station, blacksmith, school house, bank and gas station. The log cabin was one that was occupied for a while by my husband's great-grandfather in the 1800's. That was our primary reason for going.

On the way back Wednesday, we stopped at a gas station in Brownwood and as he tried to fill the gas tank, it came back out of the fill hose that goes to the tank. We had a hole in the hose. We borrowed the phone book and started making calls. We found a Ford dealer a block away that also sold and worked on RV's. Big Country Ford was so-o-o-o good to us. They had to send to Dallas for a replacement as there wasn't anyone in town that had one so they moved a motorhome out of one of the two spots that had an electric hookup and we stayed overnight. The next morning they had us out of there by 10:00 am. The service manager put us ahead of about a week's worth of service orders to let the mechanic repair our motorhome.

Don't know if it would have leaked while going down the road or not but visions of motorhomes on fire sure had me thanking God for His watchcare.

What an experience! Good that the dealership was so close and they were so understanding! We can never totally prepare for these emergencies, but when it happens it's so nice to find professionals who care and go the extra mile. Yea for Big Country Ford. Safe travels.

Kudos to Big Country Ford. They were most helpful....especially in putting your repair ahead of others. I find most will do that...and it is certainly appreciated!!!

Neat you got time off and went to Buffalo Gap, TX to see the Historic Village... It was really special in that your dh's great-grandfather once occupied the log cabin.

Are you back on duty at Lake Whitney? I don't suppose you'd be able to come to the Texas Rally at Columbus, November 20/21st???? You are so near. Be SO nice to see you there.

Take care and enjoy being back "home".... Grin..

Happy RVing!

glad you were able to get your gas line fixed so quickly. That would of been a worry if you hadn't. Nice to find the "can do" people. I finished a trip with a hole in the top of my gas tank. I was a little too naive to be worried.....

Yep, God had His hand all over that event! Glad it all went well.
