Well, I haven't stuck my nose out the door for two days now. My son and his family live on the northeastern outskirts of Colorado Springs on the high plains. Yesterday it was snowing in the Springs but all we got was strong, cold winds. This morning we woke to blowing snow and it continued until late evening. It is hard to say just how much snow we really got because most of it is in drifts. The kids' driveway is blown shut, the interstates are closed as are most schools, churches, shopping, etc. The largest accumulations of snow were north and west of here - Denver and the mountains. It just seems like it is such a slow moving storm that it just continues dumping. They are predicting 50's by the weekend. Yeah!
This just reminds me why I lived in Phoenix for 15 years and now have spent the last 10 winters in deep south Texas. But I'm having fun with the kids. We've played games, watched movies, made caramel apples and DIL brewed up a big pot of chile for dinner.
Also makes me glad I left my Gypsywagon in Texas and took a plane. Dodging fall and winter storms would not be fun.
