Well OK - now it's Monday and I'm sort of a day late and a dollar short. I guess I ran errands and dealt with meds - oh and got blood work done - the first days of last week. Thursday is clean the house day at Dave and Dian's and I'm in charge of dusting. Oh - and the coerced me into cooking the entire dinner. And I succeeded! Grilled pork chops, sauteed red potatoes, a salad, asparagus and applesauce. Got it all on the table hot and at the same time. Even got the chops right - and over charcoal no less!

Left Friday AM to go up to LA. Met Mike (possible new whatever) for lunch then to my brother's. Took a mammoth walk Friday night - over 2 miles up and down Topanga Canyon side roads - yikes - and one of the guys was 6'3" and I could barely keep up. Saturday three of us went to the big Pomona RV show - it was probably 1/2 the size of past years - and the vendor's tent was maybe 1/2 full. Quite sad. I liked the Airstreams, and the Rexhalls, and I suppose the new Nu-Wa's.

Yesterday I left Topanga, met a bunch of Morgan friends who were having a car rally to a winery outside of LA (yes, I own a Morgan - a car, not a horse). Saw friends from 40 years ago - that was lots of fun! Then drove to Vacaville, my first ex' house - stopping to see a friend from kindergarten on the way.

I'm sort of hanging out today - last year's bf Dale is on his way down from Bend. Tomorrow we go get a car dolly from UHaul and head down to Felton (out of Santa Cruz) to find my Morgan. Dreamed last night it was also missing it's dash & I was just going to part it out. I guess I'll know tomorrow when I finally see it for the first time in 8 years! Yes - it's a long saga of paying someone to do work and having both the car and the money be the victim of a poor young man with HUGE substance issues - it's kind of like the movie - Leaving Las Vegas. But - so it goes.

Wednesday - if all goes well tomorrow - I will be driving back to Escondido - maybe stopping to see Mike - and then Thursday I guess dusting - and Friday - who knows?! Oh - I know - I'm supposed to go to a Morgan club board meeting on Friday - yikes! It's back in LA and I'm not sure my gas money is going to hold out - although - perk of all perks - the wonderful friends I'm living with are also loaning me their BMW 535i! So - I'm actually driving something that is not only fun, but more economical than my truck!

See - Sheila and I may have to share the 'busiest' prize! AND my disability attorney's office just called - and acted as if they wanted to do something. I told them I'd been in touch with my senator's office - they have frankly been useless and yes, I'll be paying them $5400 when I get approved - and they will have done NOTHING - but gee, they called! A $5400 phone call! Makes me laugh. Otherwise I'd just cry - ya know? :)

Trudy,

It's good to hear that you're enjoying your new place & settling in. For Molly, have you tried leaving the TV or radio on near the front door when you leave? Not at a really high volume that would bother the neighbors, but loud enough that it might muffle the outdoor sounds. Molly might enjoy 1 or 2 "Kongs" stuffed with canned dog food, bits of hard treats and/or the cheesy "Kong filler". It might keep her occupied & not concerned with what's going on outside the door. I've used multiple small Kongs scatted around the house in different rooms so the dog has to search & find them. I've also put out 1 regular filled Kong & a couple of frozen filled Kongs. The frozen ones gradually thaw & take longer for the dog to eat. If you do use Kongs, only give her them as a very special treat, only when you leave. She might learn to be happy when you're gone because she gets her special treats, and she won't be concerned about other noises.

Wow Kerry - you have been busy !!

Work is going OK for me - I'm learning how to run the cash register, it's not real hard, just allot of details to remember. It's sort of tough to get used to being on my feet for hours at a time but I found some awesome shoes so that's OK too.

Molly did get a bark collar, it sprays some lemon scented "stuff" if she barks and she doesn't seem to mind it at all. when I leave I put her collar on, give her a giant cow bone and she seems to be just fine. I'm glad she's OK with the bark collar, I didn't want it to turn into a big fight.

Petco is having their "Howloween" party tomorrow - it should be fun to see all the pets in their costumes !! I know I'll enjoy that allot.

Hope everyone have a nice weekend.

Molly's not going to the costume party - she'd hate it !!!

Molly doesn't like crowds - she's a bit of a chicken.

Hey, I'm with Molly!!

I wonder if that collar would help our girls barking. Our neighbor's have a new dog and it spends time barking at our chain link fence and we have a barking stand-off, with the three dogs.

Our girls had gotten to where they only barked if someone drove down our dead end road who didn't belong here. We are hoping this bark fest won't last long.

This week has been full of home chores... Mowing and policing up the yard, putting out the last fertilizer of the year, burning of some of seven tree stumps from dead trees we had to take down, and weed spraying.

We celebrated our 52nd Wedding Anniversary too...And they said it would never last!!!

Have a happy Friday!

Joella

I know the collar has worked wonders for Molly - the only thing is, today when I came home I took it off her then said "Molly !!!" and the spray went off in my face - HAHA !!!!

The Howloween party was so much fun ! There were lots of cute dogs and owners all dressed up - I'm really glad I didn't take Molly though, there was lots of barking and chaos - she would have hated it.

I can't believe how tired I am after just standing, running the cash register ! How can standing up make you tired ?!?! I know I'll get used to it, but I'm so dang tired tonight I'm a zombie. At least there was some sunshine today - that was a nice thing :D

Oh, I forgot - Joella there are bark stop things that emit a high pitched sound any time the dog barks (you can set the sensitivity) that might work well outdoors - the dog doesn't wear it, it's a free standing box like thing. I'm sure if you did a search you'd find lots of options.
