Not good news. I talked with Lynne last night and David had his biopsy on the liver tumor. On Tuesday they will meet with their two oncologists. He has one for the colon cancer and one for the liver. They have to co-ordinate together on his care. Lynne said the Dr was very forthcoming in his prognosis for David, and if the cancer doesn't respond well to the chemo/radiation he will stop treatments. The treatments will be extremely aggressive, 7 wks, 5 Xs a week on the chemo and they may add radiation along with that. He also told them that David has a 10% chance to live another 5 yrs., so not great news. The Dr said that if David was an older man her would suggest not even starting treatment. Treatment will probably begin at the end of the month, once they decide how to deal with the liver tumor. It may be too big for surgery and they will want to try shrinking it first. All confusing, allot up in the air at this time. Please keep this family on your hearts.
