It is raining in Birch Bay and will be again tomorrow....so no b-b-q unless we go to a restaurant. Also there is a burning ban here. Would you believe....with all this rain. I will probably curl up with a good book and a cup of tea. Janice and I are both reading different James Patterson books.

Left Larry manning the fires and came to Salt Lake City for family goings on a wedding one of my nephews. Visiting with lots of family and playing with grandkids... will leave tomorrow and go back north we have all 14 sites departing and 5 coming in so told Larry to take care of those and we could do the rest of Tues...would be so surprised if we had any one come in.

Hey Karen we don't have a fire ban!!

Karen is sharing my home state so, yes, rain here, too. They showed on the news yesterday that most campgrounds have cleared out already and the interviews with the campers left seemed so sad as they were just huddled under their awnings and starring at each other. Especially the kids.

Me? I spent yesterday morning with Little Missy. Trying to learn the generator exercising thang. It ran well with the furnace running but not so great with the AC. Also I didn't pull the rig out of the storage stall (because it was pouring and blowing rain, so the exhaust was coming into the rig and the smoke detector kept going off.

Oh my Lenora!! Part of your alone time with Little Missy went great and satisfied your soul. Part tweren't so good.... will be the first of many good/bad happenings that you can laugh at!!

I KNOW the good outweighed the bad..... Grin..

Enjoy Little Missy!!

Happy RVing!

Well, here we are with most of the weekend gone already! I had yesterday off and spent it with my DD and her family. Nothing very exciting going on today. Miss Helen and I aren't very exciting I guess...not in a fun way anyway! LOL Hope you all have fun.

Not much going on here. Saturday I went to Sam's and Wal-Mart. I am trying to get ready to leave for Texas on Wednesday. If I don't get every last thing done I will be noon getting on the road and will still forget something. I wanted to go mow the grass at my son's yesterday but we had a couple of rain storms come through so now it's wet.

Today I tried a new recipe for bar cookies but they are not that good. I didn't cut them before they cooled too much and now I have to chisel them out of the pan.

Hope everyone is having a good Labor Day.

Martha

Saturday night I sat on a restaurant patio and listened to Taj Mahal and Bonnie Rait from the ampitheatre on the other side of the river. It was pretty chilly! Christian came and had dessert with me - that was fun. Yesterday I took myself out to brunch and went to Costco. Ran into people I knew - that's always fun. Went to bed early and read til 1AM - the fun stuff I can do when I'm by myself. Today I've redecorated the house the way it should be - the one my parents built on the Deschutes in the late 70's - I don't own any more of it anymore - sold my half to my brother's best friend - but their idea of aesthetics left a lot to be desired. It looks so much more pleasing now! However - there are two pictures in a corner that need to be swapped - then there will be nail holes though. Had a 2 hour chat with my ex-sister in laws best friend in the bay area. They used to be VP's for Sun Microsystems and had HUGE money - now they are barely hanging on and downsizing as quickly as they can. She pointed out that on my journey through CA I really need to see a bunch of family. As it is all family of my ex I guess I thought I could blithely ignore them - but it seems that no, I can't. So - I'm finding places to stay, not always in my 'condo'. I am going to park it on the street in front of my first husband's house - it's between Sacramento and SF and he says people park rigs on the street all the time. I hope he's right........I haven't spent much time with him since we divorced in 1974 - this ought to be interesting. But, no animosity; I just realized we didn't want the same kind of life. So - gee, I guess not much 'doing' this weekend - but a lot of soul searching! :)

Went to the gym, counted the money after church and made the deposit and treated myself to lunch. Not with the church money of course. Took some things to the RV getting it ready to leave on Saturday. Read a lot which is always the best. Had my granddaughter for a few hours this afternoon and took her to the pool.

Life is very good.
