Hi all,

Here's a photo of a new hatband I finally finished this weekend. I ran out of one size of silver beads 2" from the end and had to order more. It took me a while to get back to it when the beads came! This one uses a different technique than the others I've posted which were woven on a loom. I didn't use a loom for this one, but made a backing mesh of squares - 8 tiny beads to the square, with four rows of squares vertically and 24" long - and then sewed the decorative beads on top. There is no real turquoise in it. The cylinder beads are polymer clay which I made. The round disks are fresh water pears and the small turquoise beads are white heart glass - so called because the centers are white which gives a nice luminescent quality to the turquoise glass on the outside. There are also some small irridescent blue/grey fresh water pearls. There are over a thousand tiny sterling silver beads, and hundreds of 3mm sterling beads. It was fun to do. Now I've got to dream up another one to keep me busy!

It's gorgeous! And thanks for taking the time to get the photo up - I know it took a while! :) Makes me wish I had a hat worthy of a band!

You have the patience of Job, Louisa!!! I love the hatband! What a wonderful job you did on it. I wanted to see it in full detail so ran my screen zoom up to 200% temporarily, so I could really study it! Just simply marvelous. Must have taken a very long time to put so many beads together --- but the time was well worth it!!

Happy RVing!

It's beautiful. What patience you must have to make something like this.

Sheila, look in the bottom right hand corner. You'll see 100%, click on the small black arrow next to it and a menu comes up, showing different sizes available. I ran it up to 200% to see Louisa's hatband magnified.

Here is also where if the font is too small for you to read easily, you can click on custom and change the font size to one more comfortable for you. Mine is now set on 112% and that works for me. Only thing is, it carries through to all websites you open...and is too large in some. I just change it back to 100% where needed.

Enjoy the day!

Joella

Louisa, the hat band is just beautiful. I broke down and bought me a cowboy hat in Cody. Of course I had to buy it in a kids store as none of the regular hats fit me. Mine does not have any fancy band, but it was fun to wear to the rodeo the other night.
