Ok, this family needs even more prayers.

They rent the house they are in and their landlords are two young men, one who lives way up north, the other is a state trooper in the area. This month is the end of their yearly lease and they are to renew it tonight with the state trooper landlord, but saw on the news where 8 troopers in the area may be fired because they were using fake or illegal diplomas and guess who is one of those troopers? Their one landlord. So now they are worried that if they sign a lease and he loses his job, the house may get foreclosed on. Also doing a search online they found out there is a lien againt the house from not paying homeowners dues.

There is a larger home for rent here in the same neighborhood, but of course they want first/last month's rent, a cleaning deposit and an extra deposit for pets (they have two pugs), so we're talking $3000 to get into it! She said that they could probably come up with that money with help from her Mom, but with David having to have surgery and probably chemo/radiation, he may be missing allot of work, which he won't get paid for!

Gosh, they just keep getting blindsided. And to think a week ago they got to go back east for the first time with the kids to see their relatives, only to come home to all this!

They talked with the trooper landlord and he assured them he will not be loosing his job so they signed for another year. They were between a rock and a hard place no matter what they decided so chose to stay put and see what happens.

Remember David's surgery is this Thursday, 1 PM PST. He does have stage 4 colon cancer and they will also be removing surrounding lymph nodes to see if it's spread, and determine treatment.

Here is the latest on David. He has his surgery yesterday afternoon. They took out 9" of colon. One inch on either side of the tumor was not affected, the other 7" was all tumor. They also took many nodes and checked his liver and found a golf ball sized tumor on it. That will be a whole other part of his treatment when they do a biopsy and see what they are dealing with. In 3 wks he will get another colonoscopy so they can finally scope the rest of his colon and see what else is going on in there.

So it seems this little family has only just begun the fight the good fight. Please keep up the prayers. Bless you all.

Dire news;

Talked with Lynne two days ago and as we were talking her mother called and said that her grandmother had just passed away. She had just been diagnosed with lung cancer only last week and they felt that with treatment she might get another couple years, but some other underlying health issues took over. Grandma didn't want any funeral and has it all in a will with her wishes so it will be a cremation and then spread her ashes on another date.

David got home from the hospital yesterday. He has an incision starting from above his belly button down to the top of the pubic bone. So they really opened him up. I spoke with Lynne for a few minutes and she said the tumor was the size of a softball and was a stage 4. It had already went through the colon and on to other tissues and they couldn't get all of it. The spot on his liver is golf ball sized and on the lower left lobe. The nodes they removed showed cancer. An MRI is scheduled in a week or so. I'm assuming to do an entire body scan and see what all they are dealing with. Lynne is trying to stay positive and keep the entire family upbeat but it's taking its toll on her. She said the surgeon told her that David's survival rate is around 8% and probably his treatments will be about how they can control some quality of life for him. Just so sad.

Keep those prayers and good wishes going. thanks...
