I have wanted a toaster oven for some time and finally ordered a Black and Decker under the cabinet one from online yesterday. I would like to hear from any of you ladies who use one, like what you like about yours, what you cook, what kinds of pans/dishes you like to use etc. Anything!
thanks!

I have one for the trailer, and I love it! It is not the under cabinet model...but the countertop one.
I use it for everything. I bake meats, deserts, veggies and all other things in it. I use it for Holiday Christmas and Thanksgiving meals.
I use it just like I do my oven at home. Most dishes I use are the glass dishes.
It allows me to work on the RV park's electricity and dime. I have never used the oven part of our trailer stove, except to store pots and pans in it. I hate cleaning an oven, and for some reason,, the electric oven doesn't get so dirty, and when it does---- don't have to get on my prayer bones and stick head in oven to clean it!! Grin.
Enjoy your new toy!
Happy RV shopping!!!

Hi, Joella,
The reviews on the model I got says that it can easily be slid in and out from the bracket holding it and can then be used on the counter, too. That way I can use it in my RV.
Speaking of which. I'm always a day late in contacting people on their rigs for sale. Two this past week! lol I'm not discouraged as I know God has a plan for me and so I'll be patient. Or try to be.

What a nice feature!! Will come in handy in your RV too.
I too believe you didn't miss a couple of sales---- there IS a plan for you, and you were simply saved the inconvenience of looking for what you would not have liked and what is not not yours!!!
One day at a time, be patient....Your RV is coming!!!
Enjoy the afternoon and happy RV hunting!

Hi Lenora,
I use my toaster oven at home for almost everything. It came with an aluminum pan and I use that almost exclusively. Basically you can do anything in it you'd do in a regular oven - just smaller. I think it's especially good for one person as it heats up much faster than the big oven and therefore you don't use as much electricity. Enjoy.

I also use my toaster oven for almost everything and for the same reason. Why use my money on the propane when I can use the park's electricity for nothing. Plus, in the summer I don't heat the whole trailer just to bake one muffin. I use the trailer oven to store my pots and pans. I have a round cake pan, a square cake pan, a 6-muffin pan and a small rectangular pan (that I haven't used yet but it will work in my oven so I bought it while I could.) I can cook almost anything in my toaster oven. I bought it at a yard sale for just a few dollars. I didn't even have a microwave until recently when I bought one for eight dollars at a yard sale. I am a strong believer in yard sales, Salvation Army, etc.
Space is limited in an RV but I do make room for my slow cooker. I use it more now than I did when I lived in a stick house. I believe that the slow cooker bags are among the greatest inventions. I hated scrubbing the pot and that is probably why I seldom used it before. Now I put that bag in and load it down with whatever I am cooking for my supper and go on about my business. Time is too precious now to spend it stirring a pot. There are too many other things I want to do.

Dorothy, you've got that right, thinking time is too precious to spend it scrubbing and cleaning!. I enjoy using liners very much. I don't use a liner when cooking in one at home...but on the road, I do for two reasons. Firstly, until this trailer it was hard to get the Crockpot up under the faucet for easy cleaning, but now I have a tall faucet. Secondly, the plumbing in RV's is smaller in size than in a stickhouse, and the less gunk I let get down the drains...the better off the trailer and I both are!
I LOVE to cook.....we seldom eat out. However, I keep my cooking simple and easy....and want the clean-up the same and those liners give me that fast cleaning ability!
Happy RVing All Y'all!

I don't use the liners at home either because I have ample water supply and a garbage disposal. Our camping always consists of dry camping so I love to convenience of the liners when I have to conserve water and watch what goes into the gray water tank.

I had a toaster oven, but took it out. I am getting used to using the convection oven for everything, and I have a 2 slice toaster for toast. The toaster oven I had, just took up too much room, and I never used it. It was brand new, so gave it to my son.

Not to totally hijack this - but do any of you gals have any experience with a pressure cooker? As Mark and I are going to be off the grid for 6 months or so - or so we hope - LP is going to be easier for us to replace then electricity - although we will have solar panels. I've thought a good old pressure cooker might work well, but I don't even remember my Mom owning one - and I have no experience with them whatsover. I want to do beans, split peas, lentils, etc. in them - or at least in theory............ :) I'm with Joella - cooking? Hmmmm..................

To new adventures!
