Guess rainy days and Mondays don't really matter all that much anymore ! Monday is just another day now that I retired and rainy days are pretty common so I've gotten used to them :D Today is a rainy Monday and I need to re-organize the bedroom closet and cabinets - now that I've been living in here for awhile I'm ready to re-do some of the areas - today should be a good day to start. What are you all up to today ?? Did anyone make a New Year's Resolution ? For those of us that are on the road - where are you at ?? Do you have any fun travel stories or pictures ? Let's "dish" :D Enjoy your day !!! Trudy, Molly & Murphy 37' Montana 5th wheel - "be the kind of person your dog thinks you are"

Schools are all at least 2 hrs late this morning and some in the Portland area are closed. We got a bit of snow last night but the worse is the ice in the cold morning hours. Once that starts to melt I plan on spoiling myself at the mall. As much as I hate shopping for clothes, it's time I did something. With my weight loss I want to look better dressed to show off my new look. I won't buy many clothes because I have another 15# to go. I'm down 10 now. I have been watching What Not to Wear go get an idea of what colors/style/cut would more flatter my body. We'll see if I have the patience to do that! lol I bought a Wii yesterday, too! My shoulder is sore from playing tennis, bowling, baseball and golf! I really want the Wii Fit Board so I can do downhill skiing etc. That way I can get my exercise in and have fun without the chance of breaking any bones. Or so I hope! I did get my spare bedroom cleaned out as my girlfriend is coming from CA next week. I, too, went through my clothes and gave away a huge box. Right now all my clothes hardly fill half my closet. Amazing how I hung onto some of those pieces. What was I thinking!?! Have a great day everyone! Lenora & Choco "Sometimes I wonder. How did I get to be so old? Being from a construction background, rainy days are our favorite! In retirement it, still means we won't be "working".
It's our Monday chore day, and they are behind us now. We are disappointed we are not getting the promised good rains. After all this time and some slight mists coming down, we are at only .08". Hope for more, but doesn't seem likely.
You've done great with your weight loss, Lenora! Enjoy your shopping today. Clothes shopping is my least favorite thing to do, but I realize some enjoy! Grin. Keep on losing till you are at your goal...I am PROUD of you!
Happy Day!

As most of you might know I work for an older lady..aka Miss Helen...and today is her 85th birthday! So I have been to Walmart already but to buy cleaning supplies for the cleaning lady who came today. Then I took Miss Helen to have her hair done. We came home to sewer gas fumes! YUCK. Called Miss Helen's daughter...the plumber was there soon. Luckily it was a simple fix..FYI when you wash your hands in the sink occasionally a sink full of water needs to be run and then let out to clean all the oils that acumulate from the handwashing. Hopefully this will be the only thing wrong. And he did NOT charge us anything! then lunch and now we are waiting for the family to show up for the party at 5:30....whew, what a crazy day!! BTW another freebie from the plumber, if you have a garbage disposal occastionally run ice in it along with cold water to clean accumulated food in there! Alice

Helpful hints - and the price was right! I entered store bills this morning - a depressing task. New regulations look as if they will have a huge impact on the baby industry. A good thing on one hand - but very difficult for small manufacturers to afford all of the mandated testing. Pthalates and lead testing on cotton fabrics and thread is just not reasonable. Oh well - we'll see how it all shakes out. I heard this morning that two of the children's clothing stores in town are going out of business. Any of us who can hang on will profit in the long run. Don't know if Little Ones will be among the survivors, but doing what we can! Overcast and trying to snow again - although I think we did hit 40 today. Not a darned thing we can do about the weather - so I guess we might as well just smile! To new adventures! Kerry

I run ice through my disposal often but its because I was told it 'sharpens the blades'. Also toss a lemon down it occasionally. Supposed to give it a fresh smell.

Baking soda and vinegar is great for the disposal and for all the drains (in a house - don't know about a RV) It foams up and cleans the sides, plus it's fun to watch it foam. Trudy, Molly & Murphy 37' Montana 5th wheel - "be the kind of person your dog thinks you are"

Hi all! I feel like I've been so out of touch; with grandbaby #3's arrival & the holidays I haven't had time to be online except to check emails. But it feels like life is getting back to normal. Monday is always laundry & housecleaning day, so I got that done (mountains of towel & sheets after 2 weeks of having various family members here). This is the 1st week of dh's "forced" retirement; gonna take some getting used to! He was a year from retiring anyway so his company retired him now since they were downsizing the business. Will be interesting to see how long it takes for him to find something else; I don't think he's cut out for permanent vacation. I am! That's why I'm on one!
Proud of you Lenora; I'm joining weight watchers on Wed, need to lose about 60 lbs. Unbelievable number; not sure how I got here. I'm going on a 5 day horseback & fly-fishing in the Beartooth Mtns. in WY with 11 other women the last week in July. I don't have the heart to expect any self-respecting horse to carry my weight, so my goal is to lose 50-60 lbs in the next 7 months. Yikes!
Very rainy & icy here today; the trees look beautiful sparkling in ice. Supposed to be 60 tomorrow so it will all be gone. One of the great things about living in TX! Liz & Jack(4 legged)

Wasn't raining here but was kind of cold. Did lots of errands - found some stuff I still need for my trip and shopped for a new TV but didn't buy one yet. Was at local warehouse type store for 15 minutes or so and not approached by single salesperson - I did actually have some questions but poo on them. Do any of you ladies who travel alone carry any kind of defense equipment - pepper spray, mace, etc? A friend of mine insists I should get some pepper spray. What do you all think? I hate it when "they" won't help me in a store !!! It drives me crazy - I'll walk out too. As far as defense equipment goes - I don't want to give away all my secrets here, so I sent you a PM Trudy, Molly & Murphy 37' Montana 5th wheel - "be the kind of person your dog thinks you are"
