Good Morning all ! Happy Sunday to you all. What are you all up to today ???? Today is chore day and bill paying day for me - not too exciting, but it needs to get done. Hopefully Molly and I will get to the beach for awhile - it's not raining so I should get outside while I can :D I've sort of started planning the next leg of my journey - I know I need to leave Oregon sometime and if the weather will cooperate I suppose I'll leave sometime in the next month. I really hate to leave the ocean, it makes me sad to think of that, but I keep thinking I need to move on. Guess we'll see what happens. How about all of you - Where are you at right now ? Are you planning a trip anytime soon ? Where would you go if you could go anywhere ? Enjoy your day :D Trudy, Molly & Murphy 37' Montana 5th wheel - "be the kind of person your dog thinks you are"

Gee, Trudy - why don't you leave Oregon around the first part of February and we can caravan from here back to the Midwest, sticking to the more southern areas because of the weather. ;) Chris

Chris, if I stay for as long as I've paid, I'd leave Feb 5th - it'd be fun if we met up along the way !! I was thinking of taking 5 down to 40 then angle down to someother road I can't remember to head east - it should be OK - at least I hope it is ! We'll have to "talk" !! Fun :D Trudy, Molly & Murphy 37' Montana 5th wheel - "be the kind of person your dog thinks you are"

Trudy, I'll leave here probably Feb. 8 heading east on Interstate 8. Do you remember where you were planning to get off 40? It goes all the way across the country but would get pretty boring. Were you planning to angle down to 10 perhaps? If so, perhaps we could meet up somewhere around Tucson. Don't think I'd want to go across much more north this time of year.

That's the road Chris ! Tuscon is on my list - it'd be great if we could hook up. I took 40 across when I came West so thought a different route would be fun, plus there's less chance of snow/ice on 10. Trudy, Molly & Murphy 37' Montana 5th wheel - "be the kind of person your dog thinks you are"

That's right. And we could see Carlsbad Caverns. I drove right by it on the way out here a few weeks ago, but didn't stop. Have always wanted to go there ever since writing a report about the Caverns when I was in 5th grade. Chris

When we come up with a date we'll be in the area we should let everyone know - maybe we could come up with a mini- GTG :D Trudy, Molly & Murphy 37' Montana 5th wheel - "be the kind of person your dog thinks you are"

A mini-GTG sounds like a great idea! Let's see: judging from my trip here from Tulsa, I figure it will take me, driving an average of about 300-350 miles a day, sometimes less, one day from here to Yuma, AZ; one day from Yuma to Tucson; one day from Tucson to Las Cruces, NM or a little longer down to El Paso, TX; then east on 180/62 to Carlsbad Caverns.
I'm not much on staying in regular RV parks, at least not all the time, but have stayed in an excellent boondocking spot a little east of Yuma; have friends in Tucson with a big new house and an open invitation to stay overnight again, go to the airplane graveyard (they're both in the Air Force) and to their favorite pizza place; a decent RV park in Las Cruces with a laundry room and the bathrooms even have tubs (part of a motel); friends in Hobbs, NM (father of the man in Tucson) - his wife has the largest Barbie Doll collection I've ever seen and a huge house.
