We have had a busy day. Milt finished up installing two light fixtures in the overhead of the trailer. As we sat in our recliners to read, the light above shined in his eyes more than on his book. We had two light fixtures we'd taken out of a previous RV. So, installed them in the ceiling of the living room slide. That was a job and a half, but it was successful! Can now see good to read.
Milt had also built another footstool like the first one he built, and I have completed the staining and varnishing of the wood. I am now working on the upholstery for the cushion atop it. We'll then have one for him, one for me and a little table between for our drink cups.
Soon we'll have another project for the trailer completed.
I put on some dried beans at 6 AM, and threw some fresh pork sausage on the little electric grill and we wrapped it in bread with mustard slathered around it for breakfast. Now I have pork ribs slow baking in the rib rack in the oven for supper. My version of Holiday BBQ for really hot days!
In between cooking for those two meals I baked some cornbread, two cakes and dog cookies.
That was our Independence Day. Although we are forced to be at-homers right now, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day! I hope yours was too and you went to Holiday Celebrations.

Kelly and I both decided to stay at home this evening. We got out of work about 4:45, stopped for gas and came straight home. We had really wanted to go up to Roan Mt for the fireworks but??? It's a little over an hour to get up there from the house, by time the fireworks are down and we get home it would be late. We are both going to work in the morning, I'm usually in bed no later than 10:30 on a work night. Kinda need some sleep to be able to work at my age. But then again even Kelly nods off at work. But it does get really boring. LOL But we figure we have lots of good time and years in front of us to enjoy. Missing out on a few things now isn't gonna kill us.

Happy 4th, Joella. We also had a stay-at-home day...although we did sit outside on the carport and watch the neighborhood parade. I was surprised at how many kids were in it. All riding their decorated bikes and huge grins! This was the 47th Annual one and Miss Helen has attended all except the first 3! Alice

Molly and I went for a couple of good walks today but that's it for me ! I usually can see a few fireworks from my back deck so I'll probably sit out there once they start. I just didn't feel like dealing with the crowds today - Wonder where I'll be next year on the 4th ?!?! "If you don't know where you are going, you might wind up someplace else." Yogi Berra
