You can see from the picture that Hwy 83 is pretty lonely. Makes for great driving - all you have to do is stay awake. The picture of the dinosaur was taken just outside Canadian, Texas. There is no sign or explanation, just the dinosaur way up on a hill. The picture is kind of blurry cause I blew it up some. Am leaving North Platte Nebraska in the morning heading northward. Probably stop in Valentine Nebraska for the night or????? The weather is getting kind of iffy and if it starts storming I'll hunker down and stay put till it blows over.

Boy Karen, I sure hope you've got some good music or satellite radio to keep your mind busy. I'd go nuts on roads like that if I had to travel them for long.
Watch that weather -- you don't want to pull a Sparkle! Thanks for keeping us updated. Laura -- and Jed

Dave, thanks for editing. I reread your post AFTER posting - better late than never, huh?
I have all my favorite music on an MP3 and play it really loud and sing along at the top of my lungs. Must look pretty strange to other drivers.

I find that pretty- love travelling roads like that.
It's the 20 lane highways I hate.

I prefer those open roads much more than the hustle bustle inconsiderations of highway travel. Makes me want to hit the road. Had to chuckle about playing music loud and singing along...I do that too, and dance in my seat. So guess that makes me doubly crazy looking eh? We had a little thunderstorm go thru yesterday afternoon. The weather report kept saying big thunderstorms. Well, I'm from Texas and if that's the best Nebraska can do, I'll survive. Lasted all of about 10 minutes. Sun shining, heavy rain, wind and two claps of thunder. Am leaving this morning for Valentine. They're saying more storms this afternoon but just cloudy/sunny till then. Its only about a 3 hr drive so should be able to get there before the weather hits. Glad you're enjoying my blog.

Highway 83 is my kind of road!
I'm enjoying your "travelog" headed west, as well as your blog!
Thanks for sharing both and photos too.
Happy RVing!

Karen, Always good to hear that you're doing ok. Yes, I'm loving your blog, too. My mind is traveling with you and that sure helps me get thru these drippy, rainy NW days (weeks)! Hope your day is uneventful. Let us know if you find the falls. Hugs!
