Another 350 miles today, from the Flying J in Bakersfield, CA up to Willows, CA, about 2/3 of the way between Sacramento and Red Bluff. I'm seeing lots more Oregon license plates, too. Tonight will be another first, this time staying at a Wal-Mart. Good thing I got here fairly early because RVs have already started to pack in. Very nice place, right off I-5 but far enough away for a little noise abatement. And, I already spent some money.
Last night at the Flying J was okay, but I wish I'd seen the RV spots before this morning. Guess I got there too early or something. The truck noises didn't bother me too much, but I woke up several times during the night. I usually sleep with at least one window open, so having to keep them shut on a fairly warm night wasn't very comfortable. As it was, I finally got up around 4:30, filled up with gas, and hit the road. Beautiful sunrise, too. Stopped at a rest area a little south of Fresno to eat some breakfast and take a short nap. That felt good.
So, we'll see how tonight goes.
Ah, Jenny, I'm only going to be helping John's sister with their dad a bit, giving her a hand, not really working as a care-giver. Not sure I can afford the RV payments for another year, but anything can happen and I'll keep my options open. "Live well, laugh often, love much."

OK I understand now, hope things go smoothly and hope tonight is a quieter night for you. Don't you just love sunrises, that first kiss of sunshine on your face in the morning. Travel safe we're all with you in spirit.
