How about getting back to what this Forum is supposed to be about? Our rigs, our trips, our dream of trips. To start off, I'm handing in my notice on the stick house at the end of this month and moving into my RV fulltime at the end of September. It will be fulltime "living" if not fulltime travelling. At least it's a start. The TV is on beside me and I just heard predictions of oil going for 10.00 more a barrel! I wonder what this will do to RVing? 1984 Class A Allegro(Miss Piggy) Bogie the Pit (rescued)

First of all Sparkle.. Congratulations on the "Full Time" and I'm sure the rest will follow suit..
As far as the price of Fuel...other countries have dealt with high costs..so now we are catching up..
Our travels will most likely be limited..but if you are living in it.. It will be the same as in Our Stick houses.. fuel is fuel..we need it and we have no choice. Just have to make wiser decissions..
So now you'll be coming out of the wood work and into the Heavy Metal... Good Luck and God Speed.
God Bless Barbzeee....
Life is full of surprises, just go with the flow !

Thanks Sparkle, I agree whole heartedly! You lucky lady I wish we were signing the papers on the log cabin and heading off to a warmer winter spot for sure. Instead we are working on cutting 8 to 10 cords of firewood, just incase we don't! And yes, as we went by the gas station yesterday they were putting a 3 up and didn't see what they tacked to it. I will this morning when I pump in the gas though... how depressing. I guess the trips will have to be well scheduled, no running around to here and there like the ole days. Our intentions when we get there, is to winter in Texas, then drive to the Sierras and maybe Oregon Coast for the summer. Try to keep it simple without too many extra drives. Sure do envy a smaller place to clean.... Good luck! Cillie Happiness is living your best dreams and God answering your prayers!!!

Yippee, Sparkle. I agree and I agree! I love living in my little rv - even tho I'll probably be spending most of this winter again at my friends in bama - just is how it's working out this year - but that means I'll be able to make some trips - like to FL and visit all our lovely ladies there.
I pay attn to gas prices somewhat - but do not let them deter me from what my plans are - just make sure I don't make 200 mile "got lost" trips LOL - but I still take side trips that cause those miles - if the place is worth seeing, I'm not gonna not make the trip - will try to find some other way to save the money! Smiling is contagious - try it!

Sparkle... We did RV "living" and just a bit of "traveling" for 9 months after we sold out house. Getting a great place to park is really important. In our first spot, we had a male nudist curmudgeon next door.... moved to another spot tout suite! Thank God the old RVs had small, high windows!
Sure hope gas prices don't rise in the next 6 weeks... as we are going "on leave" for that time. But it is what it is, I guess. They say that gas is still one of the cheapest things we buy. But "they" don't own my gas guzzling motorhome! LOL! :) Carol Kay "Every day is a winding road..."

Okay.... "out house?????" sorry!!!! I meant to type "OUR house!!!!!!!" We didn't have an "out house" to sell... honest!!!! It had indoor plumbing and everything! LOL!
I'm awake, but obviously, my fingers are NOT! Carol Kay "Every day is a winding road..."

Sparkle know you are happy to be heading that way...and will be going "semi-full-timing" till you finish your job the end of December! I know you are excited about that!! I'm tickled for you!!
Cillie....your travel dreams for the following year sound like a good plan!! We are planning shorter drives, longer stays due to fuel costs.
Carol Kay...good you have made 9 months of RV living and traveling since you house sold!! We were going to Georgia last year...till Katrina came along, but in the RV camping book..there were two nearby campgrounds..One was a nudist camp....and the other had listed in their "ad"... Clothes are required! I got a big kick out of that.. Your high windows reminded me of my MIL going to see her son...and complaining windows were so high you had to tiptoe to see the neighbors and the calves of her legs got sore and crampy!! How's your calves...Carol Kay?? Yuk! Yuk! :-)
I hope gas prices do something nice so you can leave without having to sell the farm!!!
Happy Travelin' All!! :-) Remember: You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing.

We did RV "living" back in 2001, we lived in our driveway from May-July so I could totally empty our the house and fix it up to sell. It was perfect because I could use the bathroom in the house but would do everything else out in the motorhome. Made it easy to pitch stuff. Sold in 10 days. First week of Aug we handed over the keys to the realtor and drove off into the Sunset to the campground at the fairgrounds 3 miles away. Aaaaah it was pure Heaven to be free of the house. Then for the next 2 yrs we went between 3 campgrounds while the DH was still working. Only problem we had was he had to REMEMBER which campground to go home to each night! I was a Ranger at one park for 3 months. Learned a lesson on WHAT kind of parks to workamp for. Haven't tired of the Lifestyle yet, 5 yrs and going strong! :) Seeya down the road, Jenny & Dan FT in 40 ft Alfa Seeya tow/w a Jeep Cherokee www.Sheppardsjourneys.blogspot.com kitties: Biff, Felix & Sasha Mio
