Wow, What a day!! We have 40' of cabinets in the great room. DH got down all the junkies off the upper cabinet tops. Being 6'6", he can reach them from the floor, which saved me a lot of ladder time!! The tops are decorated with steins, cookie tins, statues, silk greenery and such. I washed all of those items, washed the cabinet tops and fronts, and put everything back..Looks good..all shiny clean again!
But don't ya just hate having to do boring work like that?
Up and down the ladder.... I got 'er done, gals... BUT... came away with sore ankles, and a dull headache.. I NEVER get headaches!!
Probably was caused by the altitude and lack of oxygen up on that ladder!!! :-)
Hope y'all enjoyed your day bettern' me!!!
Happy RVing!! :-)

Reminds me of my Mama!! If there was a Master's Degree given for sewing...Mama qualified. Once I made a garment and was showing it to her. She began to flip it inside out to inspect the sewing technique too..
I took it away from her...and told her "We don't do seams here"!!! She really got a kick out of that one!!

Don't cha just LOVE havin' a tall husband??? Big Dog is my step stool! He's 6'4" and I'm 5'4". He saw a couple the other day where the gal only came up to the guy's armpit. He commented on how funny it looked. I gave him my "you gotta be kidding!" smile and told him, "Dear, we've looked that way for over 30 years now!!!!" Carol Kay "Every day is a winding road..."

Cute Carol Kay about the size factor. The DH didn't even realise he was in the same boat! (smile) I'm sure Joella and Milt are about the same, as I am thinking you are shorter then 5'4" Joella? Do hope your head ache is long gone Joella and now you are making me look at all of that dust everywhere, oh no! Hate dusting stuff and all my blue glass needs major washing etc. Blessing Cillie Happiness is living your best dreams and God answering your prayers!!!

Cillie...DH and I are 6'6" and 5'1", so we are right in there! I have some cobalt blue glass things..only a few here and there.
The headache was gone in about 30 minutes after taking the aspirins..thanks Cillie.
CarolKay.. it IS nice to have a tall DH...but I am good about scraping things out of cabinets with a soup spoon and catching them as they fall. I HATE asking "would you get thus and so down for me"? DH catches me with chair, stool or ladder..and says "I'd have gotten that for you"...but I'm just a little independent cuss...and don't like asking!
Happy RV Travel Dreaming!! :-)

I'm vertically challenged 5'4" and DH is 6'1" hence why we bought the Alfa, I got tired of running out of bandaids when he kept hitting his head on everything! I take advantage of him when I need to disconnect the smoke alarm when I'm cooking.
Ok gals, Mom didn't say I had any dust bunnies so I must have chased them all away. Her complaint was that my step-family just gets up from the dinner table and NEVER offers to help clean up. We had 12 people at our campsite today, thanks to the large site, wonderful view, yummy lunch and wore the kids out in the pool we did great. Feels good to hear silence now though....eek gads I'm getting old that I am glad the kids are gone LOL. Weren't any of mine so I didn't have to do anything with them. My Nephews are rare Angels though, really good boys. As soon as I buy the movie RV we are going over to their house to watch it on their Big screen HD TV. Love their huge TV!! Had a fantastic day....now I'm tired! Seeya down the road, Jenny & Dan FT in 40 ft Alfa Seeya tow/w a Jeep Cherokee www.Sheppardsjourneys.blogspot.com kitties: Biff, Felix & Sasha Mio

Good you passed muster with your Mama,Jenny!!
Sounds like y'all had a really good family time Family is so important!!
DH and I are spoiled too...love company coming...love company going!! :-)
I understand your wanting to watch RV on the big screen at family's house...I am really enthralled with those big screens... Ours is larger..but only a "plain 31"" I'm thinking... It is 14 years old now.. built it into the cabinets in the den when we built this house.. I imagine we won't go to anything larger till this one dies!!
Have a wonderful day, all! :-) Remember: You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing.

Jenny - I don't consider 5'4 vertically challenged - I'm 5' and have always carried a little stool with me - have one in my little rv.
Joella - you just described one of the reasons I'm so glad to have downsized. Knick knacks don't need to find me ever again :) - well, I do have some in my storage locker - so will decide sometime in the next year whether to keep, sell or give them away - but I'll never have lots of them again - I think cleaning my 22' rv is enough work now! Smiling is contagious - try it!

Yes, Beth...I can see the value in what you're saying..and I know one day..I'll have to begin tossing here..In fact, did some over this last cleaning spree...
However, when we are gone for months in the trailer, surely is far easier to clean and "get 'er done"!!!
Have a good night...:-) Remember: You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing.
