Sunseeker cut your hose in half and put a coupler on both ends then you won't have to use the real long one. Hose Coupler kit #11410 Camping World $10.79 Problem solved :) People are good about waiting but we cringe at the guy who dumps without the hoses and it gets everywhere or doesn't use gloves and then lights up a cigarette before washing his hands....Eeeeeeew!! :gasp: Seeya down the road, Jenny & Dan FT in 40 ft Alfa Seeya tow/w a Jeep Cherokee www.Sheppardsjourneys.blogspot.com kitties: Biff, Felix & Sasha Mio

Thanks, Jenny. Yewwww is right. I think that will work just fine.
Thanks too Joella. Great idea. And I think I need to learn the art of "fluffing". Can't wait to learn all this new stuff. Grin.

Oh yeah...Jill...Everyone should learn the art of "fluffing".... Just kick back, relax, enjoy and don't worry about nothing!!! Only way to fly!!
Took me WAY too long to learn that!!! Most things in life you are not going to get to run, nor change, nor make a difference....so why get the panties all in a bundle over it... Just go "fluffing" thru life...I guarantee you.... it's so much better when life is a hoot!!!
Have a wonderful day all...Our week is predicted to be in the high 80's with rain..Can't ask for any better than that...for July..that is!! :)
Happy RVing!!! Joella

Remember - don't sweat the small stuff - and it really is all small stuff (eventually :) ).
Welcome - and I'm serious about what I just said - I went on the road and there are things I still don't do. But I'm not afraid to empty my tanks - and I don't worry about how long it takes. I'm at a cg workamping now - and can see when people dump at our dump station - and you'd be amazed how long some of them take - I've seen some take close to 1/2 an hour with people waiting. They don't care - so don't you either.
I've had to call a plumber (had a toilet seal leak) - and this week I took down one of my vents to clean it - discovered it had square screws and I don't have a square screwdriver - so waited till there were enough men around - knew I'd find one I could borrow one from - did - and it was great - was battery powered which got it done FAST! And that is now done.
Learning how to drive, set-up and tear down (which includes dumping) are the prerequisites - everything else you'll decide along the way. I've been convinced by some that I need way more tools than I have with me now - since they didn't get used, I don't carry them - never did have that square screw driver :) - so borrowing is always an option.
Other campers/rv'ers like to help out when they can - and I help back - just in other ways!
Happy camping. Smiling is contagious - try it!

Beth good you got to meet up with Mary..that was a good fun time, I know.
How neat you got to spend time in the Adirondacks and enjoyed seeing that. Funny there were as many dogs as people!! Great you could get together with those from another Forum... Women...or a mixture of singles and couples?
I agree, other campers are always ready to help...and we can repay in different ways.. My DH's favorite "payment" since he won't take money, is when someone comes back with some baked goodies..He REALLY likes those!!! Grin.. We have his sweets on hand, but he enjoys that "payment"! Sorry you had a commode leak...but you took care of it..so all is well again..
Have fun back at your park!!! Chat later!!! :) Joella

Well the lip is not closing on my toilet so I have to clean it and grease it. DH says since it is inside it's a "Pink job"....yea right buster..not! I know I'll have to do it though so it doesn't smell like an outhouse! Pheeeeew! Congrats to all of you that are doing ALL the chores, I need to learn to do more just in case I HAVE to be on my own...you never know. Like the time DH went fishing in Canada and it poured and poured rain and my campsite was flooding! If I wasn't so stubborn and not learn everything I would have moved the MH to a different site! Lesson learned!

I did most of my "learning" in my own driveway. I think I conquered one function at a time. Like getting the Propane on. Finding the adapter so I could hook up my electric to the house. Airconditioner. Water Pump....that one threw me for a while. Then when I was ready for the road I kept a list of what I needed and a spare cupboard to toss things in that I found I DIDN'T need. And every one of us has made a mistake the first time or three. Mine was not realising the shower faucet was open when I connected the water. Did you know that once your holding tank fills up it just keeps going? The shower was filled to the brim! We all have things we laugh at later on once we solved the problem. You will never be able to anticipate every event. It's how you deal with each situation as it arises that will give you the confidence to say, "I can handle it!" Enjoy! 1984 Class A Allegro(Miss Piggy) Bogie the Pit (rescued) ....and this too shall pass.

Oh Sparkle that reminded me of the dreaded flood in the motorhome in Mexico!! DH was filling the tanks to flush them out or something and he said he turned the water off ( think he forgot!) and it filled up the tanks and then filled up the bathtub and when we came home from exploring our friend gasped when she saw water dripping from under the motorhome! I came inside to soggy carpets and a VERY full bathtub ... thank goodness it was a deep one or my rugs would have been trashed! Used every towel I had in the house to sop up the mess and had to shampoo the rugs 4 times and wash everything by hand outside at an old wash board. I had clothes lines everywhere. I was NOT a happy camper but told the DH ( who went from Dear to Dumb) to take a picture because I will laugh about it later but was mad then. Our flooded carpet was when we left the water pump on in the trailer and as we were juning on down the highway, the kitchen sink faucet jiggled open...and of course it was not over the sink...ran onto the cabinet countertop...down to the floor and soaked the carpet...
Our first motorhome, kids were small and all four of us took showers the first night..leaving water running like one does at home...First thing I knew, I was last to shower and was ankle deep in water..Whoops, we'd run the holding tanks full and to overflowing!! :-)
My early RVing years were a long time ago, but if I stop to think about it, can conjure up many learning (pronounce that dumb) boo-boos and experiences we went thru!! :-)
Happy Travelin' All!! Joella Remember: You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing.
