Decided to share - first - the glory of the Mt Washington Hotel, built in 1902 and meticulously maintained - if you're interested, I all add a pic from inside and one of the view from the verandah - will probably go back there in mid to late Sept for fall colors.

The 2nd one is just for fun. You'll see me and my fellow workamper :D

Ben & Jerry's - the free taste was of a flavor that is being tested right now - I think the name is American Pie - it is absolutely WONDERFUL - and I'll be looking for it in the store - it's flavored of apple pie - yummy.
Then I bought some key lime ice cream - it was great too. Me, the chocoholic, stayed away from chocolate - mainly because I've probably had most of their chocolate flavors at one time.
The tour was fun, even tho they had given the workers the entire week off, so they weren't in production while we went through.
We also stopped at a dairy (I bought more cheese) and a couple other gift shops, as well as a quarry - unfortunately, I didn't get a pic of the piles of granite that I would have shared with you - they were amazing - and I wouldn't have lived in the houses under them. (They claim it's safe - I really wish I'd taken that pic!)

Smiling is contagious - try it!

Beth, what a beautiful old hotel! Thanks for sharing that photo. I know you and your co-worker enjoyed your touring.. so much fun!
I am a real pushover for buying cheeses!! It is one of those good things Dr. Atkins lets me eat!! :) In fact, DH just got him a piece for a snack and brought me one too..that was thoughtful!!
Glad you did decide to share the photo.. Continue having fun! Joella

Awwww.....now I'm homesick for Vermont and New England, where I have lived most of my life......
Often drove by the Mt. Washington Hotel and stopped there the day we took my mother up to the top of Mt. Washington on the Cog Railway. (We scattered her cremated remains at the summit, per her request.)
At least 20 lbs of my obesity is due to Ben and Jerry, who became my best friends (along with Sara Lee) and roommates when I gave up booze 17 years ago.....
I lived in the gorgeous Northeast Kingdom of Vermont for many years.....sigh....... We may not have it all together, but together we have it all!

Hey Beth, That's a great shot of that beautiful hotel. Will put it on my list of things to see when I take off from here in Sept. Glad you are traveling, found a good freind, and seeing the sights as planned. Ben and Jerry are old friends of mine too. Sometimes I have to ignore them(most of the time) or else we just start spending tooooo much time together. Will put them on my list though. Can't wait till I am able to get going over to that area. Thanks for sharing photos :) Marysdream Its all good!!!!!

Neat pictures Beth!! Glad you are enjoying your summer. You sure got off to a rough start with all the cold but it seems to have turned into a pretty good summer for you!! Groovin Grannie Fernie and Running Bear (Winnebago Warrior)

Hi Mary Ellen,
Didn't know you were a Vermonter...I am too. Lived in both NH and VT (West Hartford area) while growing up, and graduated from UVM (a long time ago). My brother (now a FL snowbird) still maintains a camp in Pike, NH where he spends his summers, and my sister lives in MA. I'll be there for two weeks starting Wed. Hope to get some hiking in while I'm there. See you down the road, Liz and Roe (dog) '99 Roadtrek 170 "Life in the presence of God is a life to be enjoyed every moment of every day."

Mary Ellen and Liz and any other Vermonter or NH people - or even ME - this is absolutely gorgeous country BUT - I thought WI had short summers lol - this is even shorter. However, I am loving every minute of all I'm seeing. These are two of the greenest states I've ever seen - and I'm so glad they haven't over-built - but it looks like they might be starting to - lots of new development for summer homes and cottages, etc. Smiling is contagious - try it!

Hi everyone,
Just received and installed my new Verizon PC card. Connected now on my laptop at home with a great (fast) connection. This is looking hopeful. Now to test it on the road.
