No, I'm not THAT depressed! I came up with 10 things I want to do before I die. I'm looking for more ideas from you travellers. (1) See an Active volcano (2) See a Manatee in the wild (3) Watch a Sunset at Key West (4) I heard that the benches along the coast in Seatle have speakers where you can listen to the Whales as they pass. So Listen to Whale Song. (5) Ride a Mule down the Grand Canyon. (6) See Old Faithful spout. (7) Go to Montana just because. (8) Visit Cottonwood AZ. This one is personal. (9) Visit George the Vagabonder. (10) Do the Copper Canyon Trip to Mexico. (Have to win the Lottery for that one. I bet I adopt some of your ideas. 1984 Class A Allegro(Miss Piggy) Bogie the Pit (rescued) ....and this too shall pass.

Great idea Liz, of crossing off what you've already done of my list. I've done your #12 and Paulette's #1 and 3. I'll redo my list when the replies come in and add the one ones I want to do and also the ones I've done. I'll have 20 in no time! 1984 Class A Allegro(Miss Piggy) Bogie the Pit (rescued) ....and this too shall pass.

Sparkle,
My sister-in-law and I visited Montana just because she wanted to see the Big Sky and see Custer's Last Stand. We entered Montana from the east under big blue sky, traveled westward under big cloudy sky, and saw Custer's Last Stand under big stormy sky! But traveling south through Beartooth Pass into Wyoming/Yellowstone the next day made up for it all! Still on my list is Glacier NP...didn't get that far north. 1. Still haven't made it to Yosemite. Don't know why...close enough.
2. I guess number two would be to get back on the road going ANYWHERE cause "life looks better through a windshield"
Liz, first and foremost thank you. It took your posting to make me think about what I wanted to see or do and I realized that I have seen a fair bit.... Some times I forget.
Been stationed in Maine for five years. Saw the foliage (gorgeous))Florida off and on for 10 years, (Manatees, Everglades, Key West sunset, sunsets in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico from the deck of an aircraft carrier) Iceland (glaciers, active volcanos) Guam (jungles and fruit bats). It took me looking at the lists to realize how blessed I have been and to understand why it is killing me to be sitting one place so long :(

1. See Brouchard Gardens on Vancouver Island 2. Make the Inland Passage Cruise of Alaska.. I'd REALLY like to take the small boats to do this, Sparkle....but THAT one takes hocking the farm to afford. So a $1200 each cruise on a larger ship will have to do. 3. Take a freighter trip to foreign countries...Again..hock the farm. 4. Travel more extensively in Maine and have a local tell me "ayup"...Grin
I've been traveling a long time and the only one of your wishes I haven't done are 2, 4 and 9. Completed all of Liz's but 11 and have done all of Paulette's. Plus have traveled all "states" of Mexico; most provinces of Canada; and several European Countries..
Life has been a hoot with my DH!!!!
I hope you get to cross ALL of them off your list, Sparkle!!!
Good posting... It brought up a LOT of fun places and memories!!! Thanks!

Jomilt, Favorite thing I heard in Maine... Like Oregonians they are very fierce about who is native and who is a transplant. If you move to Maine, buy a house and have children, are the children considered Mainers? The answer I heard.... "just because your cat has her kittens in the oven don't make em biscuits." Cracked me up.

Sparkle- There is an active volcano in Costa Rica. My son would go there each year to go surfing and volcano is in middle of country - cheap, cheap, cheap! They would stay on the beach for 3 mos for under $500.(not an RVing trip, I don't think.
I would suggest shelling on Sanibel Island beach(right off Ft. Meyers in Fl) Seeing Itchituckney State Park in northern Fl and taking lovely raft down the tourqoise colored river.
I want to go on a long horse drawn sleigh ride in the snow. Preferably in New England. Explore Yellowstone Go back to Alaska am still thinking................. Marysdream Its all good!!!!!
