Well, I stood at the VErizon counter and they told me in no uncertain terms that I couldn't do what y'all are doing! So similar to Cingular!
Anyway - it's a moot point with me - as they won't work where I'm at - so I didn't get it.
I will never workamp for a season without high speed access - but I should never say never - as I did it this summer lol - and can't even get cell service here.

Since I've just ordered the Verizon PC card and it hasn't arrived yet, I can't answer your question about using it yet. I'll let you know. I'm hoping that it will work well enough at home to get rid of my DSL, and well enough on the road that I won't regret the reason I bought it.

Hi Liz, I'm thinking maybe Barbzee uses hers full time from Verizon at home? Lol Barbzee, can't remember if that is so???
Oh Joella I thought you already have one of those Mobile Kit thingies. We have these stores that do just phone stuff, ours is called Mt. communications. Have you tried one of them and see if they can order you one for your particular phone. That is where I found out where to get one for my phone and they do have to order it, as I have an older simpler kind a phone...

OK, I looked on the Verizon website and the night hours are 9:01 pm to 5:59 am. Weekends are 12:00 am Saturday to 11:59 pm Sunday. As for the time, it is the local time wherever you are - just like making another call. My cell phone has a clock display which shows the current local time. (It's fun to sit and watch it switch as you go from one time zone to another.) As for the battery, you can plug in the charger and the computer at the same time. I do that frequently because when you are in an extended area the battery gets eaten up fast.
Joella - I dug out the packaging for my mobile office kit which has the verizon logo on it but in very fine print on the back it says "QuickLink Mobile is a trademark of Smith-Micro, Inc." You might try them and see if they have the connection for your particular phone. Just a thought. Also, have you tried ebay? You can find most anything there!!!!

Thank you Gypsysuzy! I'll give Smith-Micro a try.
I have tried e-bay and can only get the connection that allows me to upload phone ringing "music" and such...Not e-mail and Internet.. I have not given up!!
On Edit: Gypsysuzy, did look up Smith-Micro on the Internet. Sent an inquiry via e-mail, since my old phone model is not listed. I also wrote down their 800# and will call if they don't write in the morning..

Thanks Gypsy Sue, that was just the info I needed. Especially the battery part, I wondered if you could talk on the cell phone and be charging at the same time. Glad about that, as I figured it would be short stints on the computer otherwise.
