After spending a good hour on the phone with Verizon support and needing help from two different gals, my Verizon air card is now up and working!! :) That means most of the time I'm in Illinois, I should be able to access the computor and cell phone. wooo hoooo!! You were worried I wouldn't get it done Barbzeee!!

Good for you !.. Now here's a tech tip.. when you shut down your computer to pack away ..when computer is off.. Windows doesn't know when you insert it or remove it.. so you don't have to do that "new program device each time".. just put the card in the slot.. then when you open the computer to click it on.. it's in there with no problems.. I have mine set up to just click on Manager to turn it on.. if you have any questions Fernie, just give me a holler..LOL
Now, you are ready to travel or boogie LOL.. Ya getting more anxious ??

HHHHMMM!! I have my air card packed away in the computor case so I just plugged into dial-up now. Will that mess things up? I have an icon on my desktop I click to connect after I put my air card in. Do I have something else I have to do now that I used dial-up?

Not at all Fernie, as long as the air card is not connected.. I do that too when I'm in an area where I have to use dial up..which is not often..
You'll like using it.. as you can still have your cell phone free..and talk and type LOL..

Fernie - so neat you got an air card. I'm flirting with the idea and know Barbizee loves hers. My cingular cell phone didn't work in a couple places but each place said only Verizon works! It must be the best.
Barbizee - how is your patient doing? Is he showing improvement? I hope so.

Hey Marysdream, Yes, I do love my Air Card .. I've only ran into one place that I had to use my dialup access..other than that my Air Card has worked.. some even Broadband and that I loved :) I zipped through things that day LOL..
Thanks for asking about Zeke..he's had a good day today.. not too much thrashing..but I did have to double his pain meds.. and you know I was watching that Preakness race Sat.. and saw that horse go lame and got sick to my stomach .. as I know how those owners must have felt.. I almost began crying.. Surgery for a Dog and Cat is tough enough but for a Horse..well..very sad.. He was operated on this morning at the U of P.......

I believe Verison probably has more areas, but am not sure - I can actually get a little bit of a signal from high ground here with Cingular - at least to dial in 5 or 6 times to get messages LOL - but the people down from me have Verison and an air card and have discovered they have not even the little signal I have. Ah, life is so much fun. If I was really treating myself, would get satellite internet - that's my dream.

Hey--my card works. I'm about 30 miles south of Marion, Illinois at Ferne Clyffe State Park. I didn't get a chance to fill up with water this morning---it was storming!!! I needed water so I just decided to stay here. Can you believe---it is just elec. After I parked, I had to pull out and go get water and park again. Did fine parking---didn't hit any trees or tables!!! I've had a long day. I bet I have an early bed time tonight!!
P.S. I think they should give me a discount since I'm a "Fernie"!! They didn't think so!! LOL

Fernie, Glad to see you are safely parked and I know you feel good being in that Rig.. Glad your Air Card is doing it's job.. now just relax and lean back and enjoy the evening.. Keep us all posted as you travel along..as you know we'll all be waiting to hear what's happening.. this time NO EXCUSE unless you don't have cell service LOL...
