DH and I are back in Texas. We are in Montgomery only 87 miles from our Home. We came down for the Bluegrass Festival which will begin today, is over on Sunday and we'll head home then.
We so enjoyed our Rally with the RV America Group. We ended up with 24 attending in Branson,MO. Had a wonderful time!! We'd not met any of them before. Altho' many in the group are old, longtime friends, they very graciously welcomed us into their group, and made us a "part of them" from day one. No cliques in that group!!!
We had a potluck, saw Branson Shows together, went to Lambert's Cafe (home of the throwed Roll) twice. The second time even stood in line one hour, five minutes, as it is a VERY popular place!! We visited as we waited, so wasn't bad atall!! It was a wonderful week, with GOOD people. They came in from Arizona, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and a couple of full-timers.
I was most fortunate in that I had wireless internet right in our very own RV...sitting in my little rocker!! Same for here in Montgomery! I would have missed all you girls, had I not!
Will get this music under our belts for the next four days, then head home to the realities of our work-a-day world, out in the yard and house as well. I jest, as we both enjoy working outside.
Just thoroughly enjoyed our time away!!
Have a wonderful day all!! :)

So glad you made some new friends and had a great time - and are continuing it with the bluegrass festival!
I'm gonna have to consider that wireless internet for my rig - as this summer is going to be difficult. I just couldn't justify the expense yet!
Smiling is contagious - try it!

Beth,I bought a Belkin 802.11g wireless card, which was not expensive...With rebate was about $30. I get free wireless here. That is NICE. Allowed me to enjoy my computer while I was gone.. When we were in the Valley of Texas for a month this year, we also had free wireless in the park.
Some have the wireless cards thru phone companies, and those I don't know about.
I understand justifying the cost..Before I got my wireless card, I used to depend on dial-up in the parks, and that was nearly always available.
Paulette, I enjoy Bluegrass too. This Bluegrass Club hires particularly GOOD Bluegrass bands.
Enjoy the day!!

JOElla- SO glad you had a nice time and that you are almost home safely..not that you'll stay there too long! LOL
We live about 40 miles from the original Lambert's in Sikeston MO. Can you believe that there is ALWAYS a line..no matter when you visit? I love those throwed rolls but they LOVE my backside too...you just cannot eat there and not come away overstuffed! I knew the original owner and he was one funny guy..what a great idea he had the very first time he hurled a roll across the restaurant!

Joella, glad to hear you had a good time and that you are almost back home..My girlfriend goes to that Blue Grass Festival in fact I believe she is there now.. If I hear from her I'll tell her to say Hello to you !
I love my air card.. wouldn't go anywhere with out it.. I got mine thru Verizon..as I use to hook up via my cell phone and kept dropping off and had to watch the times too.. then I did also connect thru what ever parks I was in.. but also had to deal with dropage..so I just said, "I don't smoke or drink" so why not.. but what ever works for you is what it's all about.. ..
Hope the weather stays good for you so you can enjoy that music.. Have Fun !!!
God Bless

I have a wireless card thru cingular (my cell phone company). I have used it whenever we go camping and although the signal is sometimes week, I have been able to connect most of the time. I don't know about the other wireless cards, but would assume they would work about the same. I'll let you know how well it does on the trip to Texas and back.
I do know that whenever I do finally go full-time (see, I am determined that one day I will) that I will probably trade up to a small class A and will get a satellite connection. I really love my class C, but it does wear me out driving it and I don't want driving to be such a work-out. And if I am going to stay "connected" while traveling, I might as well have the fastest type of connection available as I think it will more than pay for itself in the long run.
Just my opinion folks...for what it's worth.

Ya know, I've been thinking that following Bluegrass around would be a good "reason" for full-timing for a while...of course, their circuit probably isn't real widespread, but it would be fun. Do a little boot-scootin and knee slappin!
When we were teens we used to go to the Fiddler's Conventions that they used to have around these parts. Of course, we didn't just go for the music, but we always had a good time!

Paulette, the Bluegrass Circuit is larger and more wide spread than you'd think..Generally RV parks rates for camping with them are cheaper too...like $8 to $10 a night..some are higher. It cost you to attend the Bluegrass shows, of course, but you save money on camping, as the Bluegrass Club gets a discount for groups. This park is $31.50 a night..but with the discount was around $20. Still higher, but the show is given in an air conditioned building and the park is ***** (5 star quality). I don't need all that..but an a/c building is worth it's weight in gold...Grin..
They have five trailers of workkampers here too..Enjoying the season..
One could keep pretty busy here, following the music trail... Wet your whistle... grab your harmonica...and join one of the bands and travel as a band member!!!
Bad as I play..think I'll keep going as an "ogler"!! :)
Happy Travels all!!

That would be me too, "ogler" cause I can't play anything worth a lick. Heck, I sing off-key most of the time too!!! Doesn't mean I don't LOVE music though.
