Overnighting on the road
Well, I don't think I would ever be so bold as to set up camp in a parking lot...just not my style. But I can imagine the chuckle one would get over seeing folks behave that way! Beverly Hillbillies comes to mind!
I was just concerned that I didn't want to say, put my slide out and then find out that it is a BIG NO NO to do that. I would definitely make sure that if I was putting my slide out it was in a very unobtrusive place (say over the curb side of the parking area). And if it is ever just me and I'm overnighting like that, I would probably not even think of putting out the slide, but with more than just me it is just a tad roomier to have the slide out when parked.
Anyway, thanks for all the good advice. I will remember it all if and when the time ever comes that I overnight somewhere. I just knew all you ladies would know the rules and be more than willing to share them with a novice! Paulette Maryland

I've overnite parked at Wal-Marts. I don't drop the jacks but have put out the slides at times. I try to be as far away from the store as possible and put the slide out over the grass along the edge. Nothing gets put outside. I'm not fond of them though because it really is noisy all night with the refer trucks and street cleaners plus I can't sleep under all the flood lights unless I put the silver shades up in my bedroom. I DO love the Texas rest areas. Nice long pull offs that usually have a picnic table and garbage can to boot are nice. Oregon has alot of no parking in any of their shopping areas. If I am in a iffy area, we do keep the slides closed and always have our shades closed at night. Never do I stay in the rest areas along the freeways. Seeya down the road, Jenny
