When I last posted I said that we might get a new 5th wheel....we did I took the blue still want the green but $2000 is $2000!!! It's still at the dealers its big enough that we won't be able to get to the backyard via the drive and lots to do on the back yard. Need to fix it up so we can put the house on the market and begin the next phase of our life. So this is the question when we go to the "camperworld type places" there is always something that catches the eye that one feels that they must have...so what wouldn't you do with out of those must haves??? by the way thanks for the thoughts on vacumn cleaners. Do belive that I will send in that postcard and order a Oreck. Snowball

Satellite TV and Satellite internet is what I can't do without. Need to know the weather, good movies on a rainy night and keep up with everyone via E-mail. Seeya down the road, Jenny

Yep, I agree with Seeyagal.. I have to have mine and get the Automatic one.. cause cranking is not the greatest..just click up button and up it goes and finds that satellite. For me also is the Crock Pot..that helps big time..less you have to do the better you'll enjoy it.. Remember you only have so much closet space...and to not have clutter..only things you absolutely need.. The grill I use is a small one for outdoors and that folds up to a little pot just about.. and I have an indoor grill as well..George Foreman..I do all my grilled sandwiches on that..I have the silcone baking cake pan and bundt pan they fold in the draw :) and if I need something like a lasagna pan I just pick up the aluiminun one throw away ..no need to store all that stuff. I use ZipLoc a lot..and I have that freezer press and seal..a few pots and a skillet..Each time I keep cutting back as I realize I don't need this.. When you are in it.. you'll come to a level of what you really need..as it's really your preference.. Make sure you take a picture and post it.. we're all excited for you.. and can't wait till you make your journey..
God Bless and Wish you all the Best..

Snowball, congrats on the new rig...Hope you come to love the blue...I'm the opposite from you...I love Blue, but I got the green carpet and green/red furnishings. However, I like it as it's different from at home, so have the best of both worlds...Grin..
I'm with Jenny on the Satellite and Internet...BUT I also will add the microwave. DH and I eat a LOT of fresh fruits and veggies and I cook a lot in the microwave.
First on the list tho' is my DH!!! :) I just can't help myself on that one!!! Jomilt From Texas

I'm not sure if you are looking for a list of smaller stuff but here goes..... vinyl table cloth for picnic tables clips to hold table cloth on small outside propane grill awning lights or at least a lantern (some places are so dark at night) package of spare fuses heavy duty sewer hose. The one they give you doesn't hold out but a few times (thats another story) extra drinking quality hose extra electric extension and multiple ponytails for varied electric outdoor carpet (keeps the rig clean. a never ending battle) dust buster (for the same battle) small tool kit bungee cords duck tape I am certain my Mother is getting revenge for my teenage years....

Ducky, I can't live without my Duct Tape.. it's a staple in my household.. if it can't be fixed Duct Tape can do the job LOL
I'm not sure what really she's needing.. again I say it's personal preference.. by all means Joella, I'm sure with this new rig she got a Microwave/Convection Oven.. now that's always a thing to not do without..
Serge Protector, Water Regulator.. those are important to have cause without them you can have some problems too.
Then there's the can of Ant spray..and also I carry stuff for Fire Ants.. I also spray my cords so I don't have any crawling up inside..a fly swatter LOL I wouldn't do without these.. and the ever faithful mosquito repellent aaah for those sit outs..LOL
God Bless
Barbzeee... I hope some of this helps..

My back-up camera, but with a 5th wheel I don't suppose you'll need one of those!
I am vertically challenged, so my little step-stool is a must too! Paulette Maryland

If I could take only one thing to cook in, it would be my Kitchen Kettle. (Walmart for $20 when I bought mine). You can deep fry in it, slow cook, make soup or anything for that matter and I've even cooked bacon and eggs in it when I broke the knob to the stove.

Ok, this just goes to show you that what's important to one person doesn't mean that is what will be important to you. I could care less about the satellite TV - local channels are fine, but then I don't watch much TV. (My DH would disagree! LOL) Use my Verizon phone for internet access. Couldn't be without that. When we first started fulltiming in our fifth wheel an exhaust brake was one of the first purchases we made after a few frightening trips in the mountains. Have to say that would be one of the things at the top of my list.

I agree on the little folding step stool, toss in a folding dishrack and don't forget a dishpan to save water!(you can flush the toilet with it - great for dry camping). A box of disposable gloves for dumping. Keep all your old towels for rags. If your rig doesn't have the little oscillating fans, then you'll want at least one and a small electric heater, too.
