Its not legal in what states? I carry it and I bet I have been in those states!!! :gasp: When I was in the state of MN I had big black bears walking through my yard often, if I let them be, they let me alone. The bear and I had a agreement, they could eat my garden if I didn't make any noice. AND I didn't. OH I have also had them in my orchard here in AR. Again what states? Calicogirl

The spray I bought in Chattanooga in 2004 at the Rving Women's Convention at a saftey seminar given by a guy from the Ga. State Police said it isn't legal everywhere. He sold this spray at the seminar but you had to attend the seminar to be able to buy it there. It spays you orange, closes your eye lids from 10-30 min and makes it hard to breath. He said it is very painful!! He said it was legal in all states except Michigan and New York. He also said you were not allowed to take it into Candada.
Since I'm going to Michigan this summer and may cross into Canada, I want something I can take with me that is legal for protection from all sorts of critters. The retired Tn. State Trouper is the one who recommended the bear spray.

Fern one of those new electric fireplaces and a bare skin rug in your rig might be cozy!

Don't worry about the bear, just leave them alone and do not have any food laying around.
I would be more afraid of 2 legged bear. I have been a widow for (soon to be) 6 months and have had 2 legged bear hit on me several times. These old _ _ _ _ 's think they are really somthing. Ofcourse at this time I am not looking, in my heart I am still married. I got to get me some of that spray. Calicogirl

CalicoGirl, so sorry to hear about your loss. Mine is almost 18 months and I still miss him terribly. No major hits....just a few dates. Think the motorcycle riding throws some guys off. Froggi Donna My Prime Years[/url] - Click on "From the Lily Pad" SKP #48337 Good Sam Lifetime #42600353 FMCA #F246470 Motorcycle Grandma, soon to be back into full-timing

Donna the guys are jealous you have the nice motorcycle and not them!! You don't look like a "biker chick" so I assume they wish they had yours! Crossing my fingers a fella comes riding down the road and looking your way and low and behold he's on a Harley. Seeya down the road, Jenny

Also about Bear spray.....do not tell Border patrol you are using it to protect yourself.....just tell them you hike alot and come across bears often.
Pepper Spray is the one you cannot bring into Canada. Seeya down the road, Jenny
