Today is blast off day for our trip to Branson, and here I sit..due to severe lightening, thunder and pouring rain!! Predicted hail...that's what is holding us back. Will try to leave later.
We are headed to Branson, Missouri for a RV America Mini Rally. There are 15 couples in RV's registered, plus one who is without an RV and will "motel it"..
We haven't met any of these people, but have been made to feel MOST welcome by them and we are REALLY looking forward to this!!!
This is our first RV Rally. Will be a hoot, I know. We do like the Branson area, and go there every year or two.
If any of the ladies post on this Forum, I don't know about it. Jomilt From Texas

Joella, I'm sure you will enjoy the trip..and my friends..( that's why I invited you into that RV America chat room.. like I did with Bethers..) They are all neat people that welcome all.. I've been chatting with them for years.. and although I've only been to one Rally.. (because of my critters) I can't make all of them as most places they go to...the campgrounds have restrictions.. My friends are wonderful people .. and willing to help and share advice with all .. I'll get to go next year to the anual cook out that they have in Florida for the Winter.. this year I was ill.. and last year I was tied up with loads of dog shows.. So, feel comfy in knowing that my friends are out to have a good time and lots of laughs..for sure..!
I sure wish I could have gone..love Bransen too !
Have a great time and say "Hi" for me
God Bless..

Joella, Hope the weather gets better, saw the news and DH and I thought of you two right away and hoped you are ok. When you get there, go to Silver Dollar City. Which campground were you going to stay at? Rallys are alot of fun, have a blast there! After the rally go over to Eureka Springs Arkansas for a romantic getaway. That is where Dan and I eloped to. Hi again Barbzee...(and a howdy do to all you ladies tonight)! Something you wrote raised a flag here. I will be motoring with my co-pilot Molly the Beagle on these upcoming adventures. Are there campgrounds that won't let me (her)in? I have Michigan plans for the summer months and Az., Fla. and La. this winter.

Hi Jill!
I'm not Barbzeee, but can give some answers to this. I travel with 2 dogs. One is larger, but neither of mine are breeds that are not allowed in parks that allow dogs. However, you will, on occasion, find a park or even state park, that doesn't allow dogs and some who don't go by breed but by size. I've not had a problem, and I don't make reservations in advance.
You have a breed that won't be a problem so only have to worry about if they are pet friendly. If you are one who plans ahead or makes reservations, you'll never have a problem - cuz you can ask then. If not, you might occasionally find a place that doesn't want your dog. Just as some people with older rigs can find a place that won't accept their rig. Smiling is contagious - try it!

Whew, Thanks Bethers! Guess I'm of a mind that if she can't go, I'm not going either, LOL. Molly is no stranger to car travel and likes to visit wherever we go. She is well behaved and so am I...I always keep a pocketful of disposable gloves on our frequent walks. After your encouraging post, I'm sure we are going to have a great time doing this RV thing!

The only place, so far, that wouldn't let me in was a State Park in Florida, and they had a good reason. It was a site for nesting Loggerheads. They said they didn't allow any pets, even when the Loggerheads weren't there, because they didn't even want the smell of dogs in case it scared the turles away. I quite understood and next time I'll board Bogie for a day and just visit. 1984 Class A Allegro Bogie the Pit (rescued) Practise random acts of kindness.

Makes tons of sense, Sparkle. I can appreciate that too. It must be quite something to see when the loggerheads are there! Is there any way to know ahead what parks have restrictions?
