Hi! Yes, I am from Norway, and I am a new member at this forum. Have always, for many years, dreamed of crossing USA, with a car. Maybe with an RV????? But how will that be for someone who have never ever been "over there" before???
Time will show :p Great to be here :) Kindest Regards, rfor

rfor, Welcome. There are many of us who have not traveled across the USA. I live in the small state of Maryland on the east coast of the US. I will be making my first trip this spring. I have a supply of maps, a gps, cell phone and a support system of incredible women. If you decide to make the trip you will get alot of information on this site. Start making those plans.

Hey Rfor, Welcome to this Forum.. You will enjoy yourself with all the goings on here.. and all the great information.. I've not been to Norway..but almost made it... but have traveled Europe in a Caravan ..(what they call a trailer) pulled by a van and I have to say it was exciting.. although a lot different from what I was use to in the USA..but still camping was great fun and wonderful people.. Not many RV's in Europe because of the price of Petro..but boy they do know how to have fun and wonderful places to see too.. As for our USA it's a Grand place and truly magnificent places and campgrounds and State Parks.. Our song America the Beautiful describes a lot of it..for sure.. This truly is a wonderful forum..everyone is all ears and eyes and always willing to pitch in with great ideas.. Feel at home and we're all anxious to hear about you too..
God Bless Barbzeee Life is full of surprises, just go with the flow !

Hello again.
These was really good words to hear. And I have to say these just at once: Pardon my english, I am not the best english writer in my country. So is that said......
I am looking forward to follow this forum. Maybe it can make my dreams come true... I wish to see New York, Grand Canyon, Alaska, Texas, you name it, I want to be there ;)
Today I am 45, as a young girl I loved to read novels about Alaska, wolfs, fishing, wilderness, I hope I sometime can see it with my own eyes.
To you who have been overhere, in Europe, yes, it is beautifull here too. Spesially Norway. Have you ever seen the midnightsun? I am born with it, and it makes me a rich person.
Kindest Regards, rfor

Welcome, rfor. What side of the road do they travel on in Norway? If it's like Britain that would be the first obstacle to overcome. I'm from Scotland and when hubby and I went to Fiji we were driving along and he suddenly shreiked at me, how do i turn? As I had never driven in Britain I was no help to him and just yelled back, remember the driver is always in the center of the road. Afterwards he said that was no help whatsoever!

Welcome to our forum, rfor. My last husband's mother was from Farsund, Norway, and he also lived with his Tante Ingrid in Oslo for a year in the 1970s. We flew a Norwegian flag when friends from Norway would come to visit us here in the states. You have a very beautiful flag! And, while I have not been to Norway, I have seen so many lovely pictures of your country.
It will be lovely having you here on the forum, and hopefully one day, here in our country for a tour and maybe a get together with some of us.

Hi! Yes, I guess my english is better than yours norwegian :-) Glad you understand me, you shold hear me speaking.. I am a middel good norwegian-english-speaker.. That´s good enougt.
In Norway we drive on the right side of the road, litterly speaking, that means we are NOT driving on the left side. You see? Are you driving on the right side in Scotland, what do you do when you drive into England? ?
The world is a small place, even though(?) here are many km/miles to drive. Not bad that some of you know people here. We are only 4,5 mill. people. I have some relativs in USA, Alaska, I belive. And Anchorage (Canada?)

Well as far as I can figure we drive on the right side in America too, left side in Scotland. (If I've got that wrong, somebody correct me before I go to Pigeon forge) Incidentely, if my history serves me, the Vikings were from Norway, correct? I am from Scotland. I was born on the Estate of Lord Rollo. Rollo was the Viking name for Prince. On Lord Rollo's Estate they found a Viking ship buried. It is thought that a Viking party came up the River Tay and decided to stay. As we are nearly all blonds in that area I have often wondered if I had Viking blood in me. It's a small world.
