That is miserable stuff..Let me tell you a homemade recipe to put on it.
One dozen crushed aspirin....to help pain/itch
1 Qt. rubbing alcohol,to dry up the rash and help itch
1 square Camphor Gum.
This you get from the Pharmacist at any drug store. It is a "cooling/drying agent. Crush up the aspirin and the Camphor Gum and pour them into the bottle of rubbing alcohol. Put it in a good misting spray bottle and spray on the rash often.. It really helps to make it feel better and to dry it up!!
DH gets that stuff like one gets the measles..Once he gets it, just spreads all over his body.
I used to pull it up barehanded, and never get it. I'm not STUPID...I just didn't know what those huge vines were when we were clearing our land for our first house we built.. IN the last five years or so..I get it EVERY spring. I have learned to help the problem. When I get it is when I'm digging into the ground and the roots/vines are underground..I now make an effort to keep my hands away from my face.
After I get thru working, I immediately go in and rub Ivy B Gone, which I buy at the drug store, on hands and forearms, on my face, and leave the time the directions on the bottle say...then I get into the shower and scrub and bathe a long time.. and wash my hair.
IF I do break out..at the first little bit...I get out the homemade spray.. I spray it on a cotton ball to add to my face...but hands,arms just spray on out of the bottle.
