When DH and I started talking about retiring and traveling, he was really worried about what we were going to do with Sam, his cat. I said we'll just throw him in the rv and he can go with us. Jack said, he'll hate it, and I said he'll get over it. So, that's what I did, (couldn't leave him home, he was DH's baby, and to ornery anyway!) and let me tell you that first few hours were really exciting! He decided that he just had to get to the driver's window, well, a lot of my controls are on a panel right below the window, and I had cruise control on and off, pac brake on and off, front sun shades going up and down, mirrors going in and out, ATC on and off....couldn't get him off there and finally just picked him up with one hand and heaved him into the back! Found a place to pull over and re-set everything, grabbed the fly swatter, and every time he put a paw down towards the panel I swatted at him. Now he rides on the dash up on the corner, and he knows he has to lay down so I can see out of the mirror. This picture is after his first week on the road, and as you can see, I really traumatized him!!!
Good Roads, Sharon

Actually, it's usually a battle to get him in when I get ready to go, which of course with my superior intellegence, I win. Usually. But if I lose, it's only because I let him win!! LOL Once we're on the road he's fine, it's just those first few miles. And of course, the places we've been lately, he's just about through with rv'ing! Washboardy dirt roads, loud machines, firecrackers, why it's enough to give a cat a complex! He'll be fine when we head up to Alaska, all paved roads and quiet campgrounds! (little does he know!) Good Roads, Sharon

Okay, Barbzeee.....sirloin burgers, veggies, yogurt for dessert....what time are you serving, dahlin'....we'll be there! Yummmm. Sparkle, I love ya, but I'll skip yer liver cookies at the potluck! Our Higgins gets Royal Canin and once in awhile a tidbit from our plates. And he used to get Greenies, and now he gets Chew-eze, which he doesn't like.....
Higgins owns our home (fifth wheel) and our hearts. We got him at 7 weeks and he is now a delightful two year old with the energy of the Energizer Bunny. Wicked good frizbee player and soccer goalie -- all 6.5 pounds of him. Loves being a full-timer and greeting people. Wary of children, but loves them if they approach slowly and quietly. Hates their bicycles and skateboards, though. Funny about other dogs -- either loves them at first sight/sniff, or hates 'em and thinks he can eat 'em up. Typical of tiny dogs, the bigger the other dog, the more vicious Higgin's growl.....sigh......
The leather sofa is his, and he watches the world go by as he prowls the top of the back and puts lots of nose prints on the big window. He now also owns a large, lovely, handknit afghan on the sofa. Much more comfy than his bed, so we got rid of the bed. I mean, c'mon, he has the big kingsize to sleep in at night and our covers and us to keep him warm and keep away the scary monsters.......
And then there is his toy box. FULL of lots of toys that he LOVES and that he digs through every day and scatters those toys everywhere and then looks through every bag you bring home from a shopping trip to find a NEW toy and of course there is ALWAYS a new toy to be found because Mommy loves to bring him new toys because he plays with them for HOURS and gives her all kinds of kisses......
No, of course our dog isn't spoiled! ;) We may not have it all together, but together we have it all!

What is it with these tiny dogs? They have no idea of their size. Inside each puffball is a wolf waiting to get out. At the last camp I was at, a tiny dog, no bigger than my dogs head! rushed out and attacked my 80lb Pitbull, who was on a leash. But guess what if Bogie had "defended" himself? The Pit would have been in trouble! Bless their little doggie hearts though. (He's NOT going on the Rally)

Just a quick question. What is the best thing to give to a dog for a sore hip. He had surgery several years ago for a broken hip and has several metal screws and plates. I know you're not suppose to give them advil but what else can you give them for the pain?
Thanks.

Becky, call your Vet... make it easy and simple.. as many years as I have been in dogs.. I don't give advice on Meds..as your dog could have reactions to what my dog may use..just like in people.. So play it safe ! As my dogs get older I do give them glucosamine..you can get that in biscuits and also tablets..it helps them with their bones and joints.
I have one young dog that recently had an injury and had major surgery ..he torn a crusiate ligament and I have put him on glucosamine..he's doing well thank goodness..
I'm sorry I can't tell you what to give your dog for pain..I just feel it's important to call your Vet and get the proper information..

God Bless Barbzeee Life is full of surprises, just go with the flow !

After Monday, we are undecided about taking our Wolf-Hybrids on Vacation in the TT. Krow our female had 10 puppies on the 3rd, and I guess she's having some anxiety issues... She ate Steven's wallet! We found pieces of Drivers Licence, Credit Cards everywhere, but thankfully she didn't eat our daughters pictures! She's never been so destructive before, hopefully she'll be better after the pups are a little bigger.
