I will be gone for about two weeks, and probably won't be on this forum. We are going to a Polka Fest, leaving in the morning. Will be 10 bands daily form noon till 10 PM..Thursday thru Sunday. NO modem hookup there.
Monday morning we leave for the Valley of Texas, will chill out there and DH will see his dentist in Mexico. There is a modem hook-up in that park, but can't stay on-line long and hang out here!! :(
There will be so much I'll miss, including keeping up with all the happenings of you gals!
Have fun, will be looking ya'll up soon as possible!

Have a safe trip and we will miss you while we are gone. Does that mean there will be no one to keep us in line and worry about what we say when we lose posts? :D We'll try to behave while you are gone but that isn't a promise!!

Edinburg has a Flying J. You can use their WIFI for $4.95 per 24 hours or $24.95 for a month. That's what I do when we take off for a few months. I am typing this at the Flying J in Corning, CA now.
Flying J has contracts with Petro and some other truck stops so you have access to more than just the existing Flying J's.
Good luck,

Patsy, Thanks for that info on Flying J's.. my favorite spots :) Jomilt, you will be missed and we all are anxious to hear of all the good things you all do... As for hubby's dentist.. my friends have told me when they stayed in Quartzsite they went down to Mexico and had work done.. even got great deal on glasses too.. I have to just make a trip out that way and check all this good stuff out :)
God Bless

If you're going to be on the road in areas near Flying J's - get on the automatic withdrawal system with them - that's what I did last summer - then it's $19.95/month - and as long as you notify them 24 hours in advance, you can stop any time - no contract or certain number of months you have to use it.
Was great for me. Unfortunately, NH and ME don't have Flying J's either!

I couldn't be away for two weeks, and not check and make certain ya'll were behaving without me!!
We left the Polka Fest after one day. a blue norther blew in and was going to freeze, so we came south..We are at a marvelous park with free wifi... free cable.. and it's NOT freezing, tho' it is colder than a well diggers a....!
We'll check with the dentist on Monday...Milt's dentist at home wanted $10,000 for full mouth of crowns, he got them for $2,800. Now, ten years later, he has a chip in one..so wants it fixed and cleaning.
I'm still watching you Fernie and your "blue streaks" when you lose posts!!! KNOW you are trying!! :)
Barbzeee, DH has gotten glasses in Mexico cheap too. Only thing we have not been able to buy cheap is any meds we take...but people bring them back out by the huge bagfulls!
Working wireless for my FIRST time..and can do it all EXCEPT transfer my webmail directly to Outlook Express. I have to copy and paste and work on it later, till I learn how.
Nice to chat... be back later!

Me too, Fernie...I'm a self-taught computer newbie.
I don't know HOW I did this, but got connected from our trailer, and here I sit... watching TV, writing friends... Just like at home!!
this wifi is impressively fast!!
I still don't know how to download my webmail into Outlook Express, but I'll keep working away at it till I figure it out.
I hate to turn off the computer tonight. May not be able to hook up directly from the house again tomorrow...Grin..
Keep on having fun y'all!! :)

You arrived here in the Valley just in time for our "winter." Oh well, it's supposed to be back in the 70's and 80's the first of the week. I follow this board religiously, so feel that I "know" you even though I rarely write. I'm in the Edinburg area - would be fun to get together for a cup of coffee if you are in this part of the Valley.

Have fun Jomilt, Dan and I are freezing our buns off in the high desert of Acton CA. It snowed in the hills above us! Raining again tonight so there should be more snow in the morning....boy it's cold here. Heard Palm Springs is in the low 60's. At this rate I'll never find a pool with warm water! I thought by going South I'd thaw out...guess I didn't go far enough.
I found the Wi-Fi so now I don't have to use smoke signals :)
