I don't know that I am at all ready to try and pull or park our TT... I just keep picturing myself hitting something and knocking a huge hole into it. Seems funny to me, cause I've hauled a Skid loader before and never occurred to me that it would be hard...The length is what's bothering me.
Buffalo Springs Lake sounds fun!
And no I'm not a newbie to camping, but definately new to camping RV style! I just keep looking at it, thinking this is kinda overwhelming! I am sure that our first time to pull into an RV park is gonna be a big day...Can already feel the butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it...
My husband hauls tractors everyday, but he's a little nervous about it too!

Happy Anniversay!
There is so much to see and do in the states you mentioned - just get me and my rv in them and I head down roads and stop when and where I want. And never have enough time!
Have fun on your maiden voyage with the new TT.

I'm thinking y'all will do FINE! Just make the first trip closer to home. That way there is not so much "white knuckle driving time" involved, leaving more time for enjoying the camping fun!!
We have done a lot of camping with motorcycles and tents; boats and tents; camping all over the U.S. out of the back of a van we had a queen sized bed set up in. Took two dauchunds, 1 large Macaw bird and one granddaughter on that trip with us. She and DH LOVED it. I found cooking on a campstove, in the rain, heating water, doing dishes, a LOT of work..even though it WAS fun!!!
Travel Trailer camping is sure MUCH more cushy!!! Grin!!
I LOVE going and camping but I also must admit I like my creature comforts!!
Once you get that first trip under your belt, you'll say "AH! That wasn't so bad, in fact it was WONDERFUL fun!!!"

ROFLOL!! If you guys have hauled all that construction equip. you have absolutely nothing to worry about except where you're going to go!!! It looks big sitting there, but how big does a loader or a tractor look sitting on a truck???? Stand back and take a good gander at it, and you'll probably scare yourself to death!!! The only difference you have is the length (maybe. maybe not! measure the equip. hauler and see what you come up with, might surprise you!)You're not any wider, can't be, and width is what you need to worry about! If you are longer than the equip.truck you've driven, just give yourself plenty of room to get back in when you pass something. Piece of cake! Like I've said before, just follow the rules:
Rule #1: Don't sweat the small stuff
Rule #2: It's all small stuff!!
You'll do great!
Good Roads,
Sharon

Thanks for all the support, I really appreciate it! Really the equipment weighs alot more and it is almost the same length carrying a loader! But I am still letting Steven drive the Maiden Voyage! We've been in the TT for about an hour putting more stuff in it...i.e. silverware and stuff! Finding a place for everything!

Awwwww.....makin' the nest.....
I just love equipping/decorating our little home and I'm always redoing something....a new pillow here....a fresh plant there....
My family calls me the Martha Stewart of camping and when we were in tents, it drove my husband nuts. Took us two hours to set up and two hours to take down! LOL
Now that we have been full-timing for over a year, things have begun to accumulate!!!! SO, I re-joined FlyLady.net to get organized and decluttered again. Doin' the Super Fling Boogie, here!

Hi Veronica and Welcome! I got over the scared part about 10 minutes down the road - and just kept the excitement. And I never was lucky enough to do this with a hubby- so it was ALL new to me.
If you love it, like I do - you'll be so glad you take it up again. And any questions you have - there'll be women here who've been there/done that.
Glad to have you here.

Welcome Veronica!!
You've come to the right spot! All here are so friendly and helpful. On your class B...are you thinking to "live in it" and travel or just use it occasionally?
I ask, because a B is mighty small. Plus they are expensive for what you get, compared to a Class C, for instance.
I would consider a "C".. doesn't have to be large, but I'd look for one with a bed, not a couch one must make down into a bed nightly. I'd recommend a slide, as they add SO much to the size of a unit, plus heard re-sale value is better.
Happy Hunting and decisions!!! Stay in touch!
You'll have fun in the planning of what to get, and when and where your first trip will be!!!
Happy Travelin'

Talked to a lady at Curves yesterday who was 78 and has been driving her own rig for 20 years ever since her hubby passed! Is that not cool?? Gives me hope that we'll all be on the road for many years to come! I figure if she can do it, we all can, especially you young whipper snappers out there!!! LOL
