I went to my first rally with a singles group in NC. I wanted to leave early (6am) and could not get the elbow off of the sewer hose. I tried for 1/2 hr and I did not want to wake people. I looked around and no one was looking so I cut the elbow off with a knife and threw the whole mess in a bag. I called the mfg when I got home and they said spray the connection with Pledge furniture polish, no problem since. If we didn't make mistakes, we wouldn't have anything to laugh about around the campfire. Hey! no problem, we changed diapers so we can empty a black tank. :) 1999 Georgie Boy Maverick Eastern Shore of Maryland

I just go nuts when I see a guy trying to get his satelite dish up and running right and can't do it after 30 min to 1 hour. The last guy doing it I came outside with my compass and said what's the problem you have it right where it needs to go, I got it in 5 min. The guy looked at me like "sure lady...5 min...yeah right" Dan came over and backed me up saying " Yep, she got it in in 5 min if not less" Guy really looked at me strange this time so I told him to aim the dish higher and he got it ! He later came over to me and said " Can I please take you with me to the next campground" Made my Day!! Hee-hee-hee
Dan knows I am the satelite pro!

Thanks for all the chuckles you gals. You are a "hoot" !! I feel real tall at 5'6"!! Gee----you all make me feel young and tall!! I ran into my old department manager from work at my hair dresser's yesterday. I let him know "I love my job"!! He is jealous but he is retiring soon too!!

Funny how we meet so many people who are green with envy because we are out there finding new places to scout out and then there are the others who don't have a clue....kinda reminds me of the Vikings who thought you'd fall off the edge of the world because they were afraid to go where they hadn't been before and the Pioneers who forged those rickity wagons to new horizons....boy have we come a long way!! My Great-Great grandparents would give anything to have modern new covered wagon! I love being a Gypsy and then writing home telling everyone what I am seeing and they love the stories! Helps to get them to understand our wanderlust for new Horizons. Now if only this Northwest rain would go away I could have more fun! Over Twenty days and still coming! :( Seeya down the road, Jenny

That reminds me of a funny incident that happened last Oct. when I was in Illinois. I had stopped by to see an old friend I had worked with years ago. (She is 80 now)Ther daughter and herboyfriend were there and they sent Willy to answer the door when I rang the doorbell. I was in the rv and had parked in her driveway. When Willy saw the rv he was quite surprised and ask if I was driving it. I replied "Yes---and I parked right next to your truck---isn't that scarey?" He was speechless. Needless to say, I had the upper hand that day when he attempted to give me a hard time teasing me!! The look on his face was priceless.
I felt so stupid and so embarrassed...I only hoped no one else was watching, but I'm sure someone was probably laughing and saying how funny that was...I can laugh at it now too but it sure wasn't funny at the time...Just thought I'd share my humiliating experience
Excel, I firmly beleive that the tinting on the living area windows is not so much for the privacy of the occupants. It is so we can sit in comfort of our "homes" and chuckle at what goes on outside!!!
I will offer to help if it appears that someone could get hurt, but we all earn our stripes with episodes like yours. Mine was the time I didn't get the hose FIRMLY :confuse: attached before I pulled the lever and I had A LOT of cleaning up to do!! "Not all who wander are lost"

Hey susan-y Thanks for sharing...I'm leaving in a few days to visit friends & take off together on a new adventure. I'm trying to prepare myself in advance so I can avoid 'embarrassing moments' on the road. I don't mind talking to gals about my 'dumb' episodes, but I sure don't like to share with many of the men who RV. They always get that superior look on their face & act as if they've never made a mistake or done something dumb...and we all know what a fib that is! Anyhow, thanks all for the support.. Safe & happy travels to you!

My embarrasing moment ...one of many....I hooked up the water hose and I heard it running, but thought that muast be the hot water heater filling. After a while water started running from under the RV so I switched off the water and went inside. All looked fine until I opened the shower door. It was filled to the brim! I had left the shower faucet on and filled up the holding tank. On another dubject, how many of you hear tales of doom when you tell friends what you are going to do? I keep hearing about my breaking down and being stuck somewhere for a week. Or I'll fall ill...what will I do THEN! I feel like telling them at 3.00am I already think of those things, but what I say is, I'll deal with it when the time comes! What timid little lives these people must lead if they are scared to do something IN CASE something happens.

Sparkle, It is sad about the timid people but I guess they didn't have our background or maybe lack of sense. ;)I grew up with 4 boys so it was get tough or die. I married a man who always said "that is women's work". I replied "if I did everything you think is women's work I wouldn't need you". Well the day came and Ta! Dah! a Red Neck Woman is born. A red neck woman is any woman who does what ever the heck she wants. Any Red Neck Women here? 1999 Georgie Boy Maverick Eastern Shore of Maryland
