I have white day/night shades - two people smoking full time and furnace running - and the shades were horrible. I put some hot water in a tub, 2 scoops of Oxi-clean, 1 scoop of Tide/bleach - took the shades down, and let them soak in the water 15 or so min. Then I rinsed them real good, and I now have NEW WHITE shades!! It is unreal how clean they got.

The units with slide-outs that I have visited (only on the Internet) include: Gulfstream Ultra Sport 23; Four Winds 23J; Four Winds Chateau 23';and Shasta Sprite 222RKSL. Any opinions are most welcome and Thanks!

As new questions and answers are placed on the board the older ones scroll down to the bottom and eventually scroll off. BUMP is a way to bring the post back to the top of the board.

My DH has had to restring our shades. Did the little plastic spool break and your string come completely undone? First, I went and bought some plastic sewing machine bobbins to replace the plastic spools. Hubby straightened out a clothes hanger then bent one end to make a small hook. He inserted the hook in one end of the bottom metal piece 'til it came out the other end. He tied the end of the string to the hook and pulled it back thru. He tied the string onto the spool part of the bobbin (not the little hole in the bobbin)then screwed the bobbin back into place on the wall. Hope this helps you.
