Okay, girls, I can't be the only one left to monitor this site! How are you doing and what are you up to? I'll start: no GS campouts over the summer, so I'm looking forward to Sept. Tried to trade Flitter in on something smaller - a B+ - and they played footloose and fancy with the financing so I got my deposit back. Was rather bummed because it had everything I wanted and that's downright impossible to find. But . . . sigh! Went to Hawaii with a friend and did the cruise that visits 4 islands. It was a lifelong dream of mine and I finally got to do it! Pricy, tho. But I figured I keep helping my kids out and it was about time I helped myself. Only hitch, we had to outrun the hurricane! Hawaii hadn't had a hurricane in 22 years until I go there! Worked out just fine, tho. Now it's your turn. Evie

I was so shocked when I came on tonight and saw that there was a new posting wow!! so lets see what have I been doing...been parked at my daughters doing the stuff I felt I could do to help her with her 5 children and another daughter and her son...so in the household is 3 adults and 6 children they range from 17 to 8 a set of twins in there as well...and this summer have had 3 rv friends stop by and we have 'toured' Jackson/ Grand Teton National Park...that as been fun so enjoyed seeing them and showing off my home area literally we would stop at my old home or at least my grandfather's for some reason either the buffalo were there or I simply didn't want to go down to my old home...found huckleberries...worried about getting my trailer repaired....needs lots of cosmetic care but more than that needs new batteries (they've actually been ordered) and the jacks need replaced...that will have to wait till I'm on my way will either have it done in SLC at the campground or look into what it would cost at a rv repair place not sure which will be cheapest...am right now in Ogden at my daughters...knew I needed to have some work done on the truck so was going to do that simple A/C recharge and some pump needed looked at...Simple right??? Wrong before I got it to him was going to go to SLC and take a GD down to baby sit my son's daughters for the night. the sound came on telling me it was low on fuel or washer fluid so looked and saw that my fuel indicated empty...what couldn't be had a over a half a tank in the am wasn't showing the miles...so traded cars with daughter and found out it wasn't showing speed nor anything else...found out it's a computer chip!!! ouch....new are expensive old having a hard time finding one...not sure what to do

could say that this has set me back a big

I haven't checked in for a while. Haven't been doing much camping this summer. Went to the lake with my sister for Memorial Day. Camped at the local state park one weekend with a group of Louisiana women. Went to Alabama for 6 days a couple of weeks ago with the RVing Women. My sister and I were planning on going to the lake this weekend but she has a chance to work. She is not going to turn down over time. Probably a good thing because we have about an 80% chance of rain. My husband has been going to the doctor pretty regulary so I can't get too far from home. I really want to go the the GTG in Kansas but it's 800 miles one way and he would have a fit if I was gone that long. Since Sharon decided to go I really want to go.

Evie, sorry it didn't work out on the Coach House. I would really like a newer one but no more than I travel the one I have will probably last as long as I can travel. I got a new refrigerator installed a month ago. I put an apartment refrigerator in instead of one of the electric/propane. I never boondock and propane makes me nervous so figured I could get along with an electric one. I just hope it can stand up to bouncing down the road. So far it's working fine.

Sheila, did you get your truck fixed? Harold traded his last year because we never could get it fixed right. He can't walk very far and it kept stopping or not starting. You have really been busy with family this summer. My grandson went to Turkey with his mother so I didn't get to see him this summer. Makes me wonder where he will be for Christmas. If they go to Florida to see his Aunt I guess we will be going to Florida for Christmas.

No I don't have the truck fixed yet however the part a used one is one it's way but with it being

a holiday weekend it won't be here until Tuesday at least ....hoping that it is a 'good' part as it's used it's not under warrenty but just didn't see how I could afford a new one close to 2000 with labor included in that...I do wonder how long it's going to 'last' even though for a diesel it is just broken in at 238 thousand that is :) although it has the stuff to pull the trailor the trailer is over loaded and I think that it's just tired...how I wish I could go and get a new to me truck I would get a 3500 right now I have a 2500 but oh well we will see the kids try to get me to find someone to pull it down for me and sometimes that sound good but then I just worry about the extra money ...guess we will see what happens so good to see you typically I check dailey but don't post as I figure no one around..perhaps I need to rethink

Hi girls! Sorry I didn't get back in to check for awhile. Sheila - I'm so sorry for all your mechanical problems. It gets so expensive to maintain these old rigs, but going to a newer one is worse! As it turns out, missing out on the Coach House was probably a good thing, although it's hard to convince me. My HOA sent me a nasty letter saying they knew I had an underage person living with me (my 49 yr old son) and gave me 15 days to correct the problem. I wrote back an explanation but was frantic to find him a RV to live in and a place to park it. Because I didn't get my dream RV, I had the money in the bank to buy one for him and still have some in savings. I had almost wiped out that account to get the Coach House. It all came together in one day - found a space, bought a very old Suncrest "A", and thankfully the couple that owned the RV agreed to keep it until we were ready. The space is beside a private house and the owner put in new 30 amp and new sewer. Gonna cost me $450 a month, tho. Hard to find places that will take older motorhomes. Got home THAT SAME DAY and a letter was in the box from my HOA saying since he was over 45 I could go to the office and get him a resident I.D. Guess you know I wanted to stuff the letter down the someone's throat! But I wanted my son to get established on his own and to get my house (and my sewing room) back. Room still smells doggie from his dog. I'm thinking of buying one of those bags of cinnamon pine cones to kill the smell - they are so-o-o strong! Now if he could just find work . . . . Sigh. Evie

my truck is done!!! just need to go pick it up...going to tomorrow in fact...

right now I'm at my mom's house doing some things that she just can't do ...she is on

a trip right now with my brother his wife and their daughter...she will be home in a couple of

days trying to get cupboards wiped down...did the bottom ones will do the rest after she gets home and I get home from Utah...duster her bed room right now the mattress is leaning on the wall as is the box springs waiting for my daughter to come help put them in place..then to make the bed...burned up the belt and can't find any more so can't finish vacuumn the rest of the house at least the bed room was finished...perhaps if they answered the phone I could get the information for the belt!!!

as to the truck it turned out that the chip was lost then showed up was in working then quit working so they went looking to see why!!! turned out that the cable to the computer chip was working so he fixed it and my computer works so he is sending the one back to the orginator and the pump that I was worried about seems to be working so it wasn't as bad as I was anticipating ...yea!!! got the hose out of the trailer (the hydrolick hose for the slides) looks like if its ok that the bad spot can be cut out...and the end pieces put back on...now to see if that will work...if now then the hose wont be that expensive. When I get to SLC will get the jacks replaced...and I'm good to go

I've been watched over this summer ...my eldest had charged a dryer to my Lowe's account she gave me the money for it so instead of paying off the bill I paid for the batteries...then about that time (she gave me 6 100 dollar bills) I went to move the money from my purse to a safer spot...took it out and the amount had grown...by lots...think I know who did it but I get the impression that she didn't want me to know (I did call my daughter just to make sure I was remembering correctly I was) and a week or so ago I tried to find something in my computer bag...and found an envelope of money not a insubstanial amount of money...between the two envelopes I will be able to get the jacks replaces including the service charge .....I'm thankful but at the same time I'm upset does that make sence? but I won't give it back and hurt her feelings...very tired tonight and I'm impatient with Shadow ..my nephew is upstairs and Shadow is acting more aggresive than he should be (he isn't a huge guy dog some better than others nephew is midway on the list of I don't like you...)

everyone take care I check here dailey but we sure are lazy :) and post rarely...talk later

Martha - Did you make the GTG? I sure wish I could have gone, too, but I just don't go very far from home these days. I often wondered how hard it was for folks to give up the keys and do they really know when it's time? I get closer to finding out those answers every year! Sheila - I bet we could make a dandy reality show out of your life's ups and downs since you lost Larry. Sounds like you will have a good working truck and fiver just in time for your trek to Q. Are you still planning to go this year? Evie

I might try to meander to Q again depending on timing, whether any of the gals are planning to go, etc. I seem to be the bad omen, tho. Seems every time I plan on joining you something goes wrong! One of these years its gotta work out! We had such a great time with the first GTG awhile back. Time sure flies by. Hope the truck holds up. When do you plan on heading out? Evie

I didn't make it to the Kansas GTG. My husband had surgery on the 23rd. The third doctor we saw finally found his problem. It was cancer but contained and hadn't spread. Will not have to have treatments. Second time this has happened. He has been lucky. Fifteen years ago a horse broke my husband's leg and from tests taken then they found a tumor on his kidney. If the horse hadn't broken his leg by the time they would have found the tumor it might have been too late.

I haven't heard what Sharon's plans are. She signed up for a GTG in Ft Worth in November. I am hoping I can make it.
