When we retire isn't life suppose to slow down???

that is what I thought

One of my dd's flew to FL to attend something with her on line school (she is getting her master's). So although dad is home he is at work and so I've been doing the pick up kids when they need to be picked up. Twins from school older boys from wrestling practice

today was my 42 anniversery and thought I will do this and this and this cause it's my day right so wake up to hearing the truck (those of you with a diesel know what I heard) so went to the phone call the grandson and say why is the truck running?? he replies to warm it up with the duh sound in his voice so I calmly tell him that no he can't take the truck I need it and think Uncle is going to be gone so will need my truck to pick up the boys..okay

So then an hour or so later sil comes to the door I went back to bed cause I can right? mom you awake yep do you want to go to Jackson and I say well no don't think so don't know what the roads will be like (dd that works in Jackson didn't make it home had to stay with grandma cause of snow) so I say don't want to take the truck over the pass he says you can take the suv it's got 4x4 gulp no thanks okay going to town...after he left I thought why not if sil will drive so I call him and say how about you take me over and I'll come back with dd...that way you can look at the meds that is in spanish and tell grandma which is which ( I got some meds from MX and she hadn't used them cause she wasn't sure which was what) so he said that works looking for wrestling shoes anyway..so went to Jackson spent the afternoon with my mom and then came home with dd on our way home went to the cematary and wished dh happy anniversary When we were explaining to dd the plans she said but I not sure I want to drive the truck over the pass if it snows might have to stay with grandma but she has to go home cause the dad has to be gone to take some tests for guard...so we ended up with sil picking up truck that grandson now had and he took the truck to take test I'm taking car to slc as youngest dd is graduating and dd that works in Jackson as the SUV and grandson is cause he doesn't have a car!!

Last Sat we went to Idaho Falls to get gs contacts saw the cutest puppies but reason prevailed and didn't get one 300 dollars talks big..but got on the internet and found some that are being fostered in Idaho Falls going to stop by tomorrow and see what they are like a aussie/cocker mix pictures sure are cute...but we will see

and next week if it all works out will be leaving with the 5th wheel for SLC need to tanks are about full and the hoses are frozen need to pull them out and let them sit in the sun so they will thaw and I can roll them up

Live goes on doesn't it next week when I get to SLC maybe it will be a tad bit slower

Busy gal, Sheila! I think it seems like retirement is busier than working was! I thought you were leaving all that snow country behind? Our anniversaries are hard. I'd like to tell you it gets easier with time, but it doesn't seem to.

Won't you be bored in Q? Just look at all the excitement you'll miss with no vehicles to swap, no passes to cross, and no kids to pick up. What will you do? (Tongue in cheek here)

They keep saying fuel is dropping, but you can't prove it here in So.Cal. It's "down" to $4.49 for regular. I keep waiting for the big drop in price and then I'll grab Flitter and go fill her up. Lately, for the first time in ages, diesel is less than gas.

You're doing good, Lady.

I really enjoyed reading the synopsis of your life--- and thankfully, it wasn't I!!! ha!!

Glad to see you juning around the local roads, seeing your mother and enjoying all.. I bet you'll enjoy the quiet life at "Q"... and it will be a welcome change. How are you getting there? Family delivering the trailer or you gonna do it with their help?

Good fun for the winter with your Q friends!! I wish I were traveling. I sit here and watch the RV's coming by--- and wish it were me.. Milt watches the motorcycles and I watch the RV's. Grin

Been busy-- friend Joy had her knee replaced and helped her a bit... Family has been by a lot and we've enjoyed. Life goes on and we do "dance thru it all"..

I'll be anxious to see your new puppy when you get one!! What a great plan!!

Happy travels all!

Joella

Today I should have worked on getting the 5th wheel ready to go but not I...for as bad as I want to go sure am dragging my feet

But today went to Idaho Falls with one of the dd's we had the twins and their sister, gs and his girlfriend they were putting together his halloween custom and he also had to have a optical appointment then dashed back to Rexburg where we were meeting the rest of the family but friends of one gs as he was having a birthday party at the fun zone what ever name it had Then home but should know when I go with this particular dd that straight home isn't in her volcabulary ....the mom that was in FL for school met us there as well so we were all together as a family and that is good..but now I'm looking at the mess I need to start putting away and wondering how I'm going to get it all down and as I left my mom the other day she asked if I would be over again before I leave so might depends upon the weather go over to see her tomorrow so am going to have to really hussle on Monday to get it all done

Went to SLC for my youngest dd's graduation way different than I've ever experienced but it was nice and so glad that she finished this it will be interesting to see what she does with it...

Joella as to my getting the rig to Q this is the plan as of right now: subject of course to change...

On Tues my brother will come over and he and I will take the 5th wheel to SLC I want to be the one to drive it down after we get off this hill that I'm perched on ...hoping that that drive of almost 200 miles (right now can't remember what the miles is) it's a good 4-6 hour drive in car depending upon everything...we had a big snow storm go through but according to the smart phone (not mine ) it's suppose to warm up for the next 3 days...so if this is true it will be a good travel day...I want db to coach me to encourage me and be there but I need to learn how to drive the truck towing the trailer. Then in a couple of weeks my husbands birthday would be on 11-10 and the kids want to get together as a family they think that will make it easier for them we also have another family event this coming weekend so will have things to do for the next couple of weeks..Some might ask why not wait up here till it's all done and not have to pay KOA a bundle....cause it's cold up here the hoses are frozen and the weather is so iffy up here that I just need to get down to where it's more mild when the two weeks are up will take the 5th wheel down to Q and hopefully I will make it ok ...everyone keeps telling me I can do it so am sure going to try figure if I'm am a nervous wreck by the time I get to SLC then I can look into an alternative means of getting down there..one of my dd's has suggested that I leave the trailer down there year round and move in with her and her son it has merits makes the most sense she at this time lives with her sister and her family but that will change some time in the summer...something to think about but perhaps I will do the camp host again who knows

as to the pup didn't go see them weather was too bad on my way to SLC and then coming back they didn't answer the phone didn't have time today and when I was on the internet they didn't even show anything in Blackfoot so not sure what was going on...pretty much decided that as cute as they were that perhaps right now when I'm trying to get ready to travel that it wouldn't be the best time to get a puppy or even any dog will think about it more when I get to SLC

you all take care hopefully will see you in Jan Evie did you find a place for that week? hope so good to hear from you Joella hopefully all will go well with your friend and her new knee

Shiela - You sure have been busy!! Nice to fill up your days. Wish you good luck with driving the truck/5er down to Q. I know you love it there during the winter. I might be there again in January and if so, will contact you. Do you think you will park in the same area?
Joella - do you go to any of the RV gatherings? Sounds like you really miss RVing.
Evie - Drove over to Bakersfield yesterday to look at RVs. (I'm always looking.) On my way back on Hwy. 119, thought I should fill up the gas tank before getting into all those remote areas. $4.99/Ga regular and diesel was the same. YIKES Guess we'll see $5.00+/Ga again???

Happy travels girls,
Linda

You three will really enjoy Q! wish I could jump in and see ya'll for about a week..

Would be wonderful!!!

I do sometimes go to a Rally. They are having one at Potter's Creek in Texas but that park has no cabins.

I really do miss my RVing! Such is life--- and I manage to fill my days with other things but RVing...

Have a good day

Love,

Joella

Sheila, you are making me dizzy with your coming and going. lol

I went to the Texas GTG and we had a good time. My laptop crashed at the GTG and my home computer was having problems too. I finally got online tonight. Darn, if I don't have a computer I might have to clean house.
