Thanks for the thoughts

my brother was in the shot gun seat and I drove will leave for Quartzsite in a couple of weeks

And hopefully will be able to do it solo when the time comes

wasn't as bad as I thought but still the anticipation of pulling out of the campground without someone saying watch that tree or rv then my sil followed and when she could see that I wanted to for some reason change lanes and wasn't having that opportunity would get into the lane slow down so I could get over and then do the opposite when I wanted back into the slow lane (police car ect was the reason for changing) oh and one time actually passed someone he was going way slow

but that almost three hundred miles helped a lot it's about 650 or so to Quartzsite from here

Terrific, Sheila. Hope you plan to break your big trip up into smaller bites, finding a park along the way that has pull thru sites. Those big girl panties of yours are certainly pulled up tight!

Way to go Shiela! Agree with Evie - break your trip to Q into 2 or 3 days. You could even stay in WalMarts??? I would take at least 2 days from Central Coast area of CA to Q. I liked when you said it wasn't that bad.

Safe travels,
Linda

some how missed this Joella you are more than welcome to come and stay with me

planning on staying in town but the guy that said I could rent his space and wanted to meet me when

I got to Q and to let him know when I was going to be going down whom I've left messages with hasn't chosen to call me back so who knows might be boondocking guess we will see don't know what else I can do...

other than anticipate with trepidition pulling out of this spot so not looking forward to that. Its a scary thought and then getting on the freeway headed south not east got to make that change correctly but at least I know I can drive it's just the starting up and doing it all a lone

Yeah, it's scary all right. Keep this in mind, tho: You are bigger than they are! One thing about driving an RV no matter which kind it is - people can and will maneuver around you. You don't have to maneuver around them. When you are going too slow for someone in a hurry say out loud, "I'm big, I'm clumsy, and I'm slow - DEAL WITH IT! Go around me or stay behind me - your choice." I've noticed that people think God forbid they should get behind an RV and never want to let me merge. But I've also noticed that if I put my signal light on early enough, start easing just a tiny bit to the direction I want (but staying in my own lane) usually one of the vehicles will back off and let me in. Usually because they finally realize WE'RE BIGGER!

I started thinking like that when I was on a tour bus in Boston and a taxi tried to squeeze the bus out of turning and the bus driver said out loud, "Guess who will win this? I'm bigger! Do you really want to challenge me?" It got me thinking that most aggressive drivers are aggressive because we all back off and let them have their way. When push comes to shove they give in. I'm not saying we should be terrors on the highway. We should still drive safely. I'm just saying that if we are usually intimidated by other drivers we need to realize that now we are bigger and not as easy to bully.

Hope I'm not wording this wrong and have everyone bombard me. I'm saying it's a mental thing. And of course I back off if some idiot decides to take up the challenge.

I hope your plans for Q jell togther, Sheila. Ya got a bunch of gals sitting on your shoulders urging you on.
