Heading to IN soon. Not sure when or how. I want to be able to take my TT but no tow vehicle now. So thinking I will be flying...it's cheaper anyway but all my 'stuff' will be here!

I have always hated to fly and they are making it harder. That's why I like to travel in a motor home, I don't have to leave my stuff at home.

There's a GTG planned at Potter's Creek Campground in Texas the end of October. My sister and I are going. Hope the weather is nice. It has finally cooled off here a little, just don't want it to be freezing.

It's been forever since I've been here. No internet for me when we're in Vermont but now we are heading back to Arizona and the air card is starting to pay...We're in Marshfield, MO. Walmart! No side trips this time with price of fuel. At least it's a little cheaper here than New York. So far so good with the weather. We were parked Sunday and Monday at a park when a rain storm came through. It brought the cold from the north so we headed out.

It's time to catch up on what happening here. Until later CJ

I'm planning does that count??

toying with going on a road trip ultimate goal is Port Ludlow WA but the way I get there is yet to be determined the kids said fly mom probably cheaper I replied have done that want to see the states..So my middle daughter said I could take her car grandson wasn't so sure about it go alone grandma don't think so...I think so if I waited till someone could go with me I'd wait forever...

And going to Quartzsite is in the planning my hopes are to go to SLC by Oct 21 or so dd is graduating from cosmotology school and wants her mom there...then leave the first monday in Nov..for Q just one minor hitch in the plan I have never towed the 5th wheel...so I'm either at the mercy of someone else and there time frame or I hire someone to do it or I learn how to drive towing a 36+ ft 5th wheel... I've seen other women do it and part of me says sure you can then another part of me says you??? remember there is the Virgin river canyon and horrors Vegas!!!

I think if I knew how to find a driver I'd go with that but not sure how to do so so hoping sorta that my brother is still willing to teach me how to drive the truck with the 5th attached to it

Shiela - It would be nice if your brother would take you out with the truck/5th wheel a few times so you would get the feel of it. Then just take it nice and easy. YOU CAN DO IT!! I remember early on with my MH, we were driving in what seemed like just flat roads in a beautiful area. I had just taken over driving and YIKES - the Virgin River Gorge. I was scared to death but guess what, there was no way out. I did it and was so glad I did. Have driven it a couple of times since then.
It's either try it or not go to Quartzsite or anywhere with your MH. Good luck

I hear you , Alice..heading for IN... that will be fun for you... I too wish you had a tow vehicle to take Ruth with you... Always nicer to have things with you and your own home as well. Enjoy the trip --- no matter how you go!

Martha...I always enjoy traveling via ground.. I like to see where I'm going..not be flying over it. I would love to see everyone at Potter's Creek...I checked to see if they had cabins and they do not... And don't wish to stay in a motel.. I just don't drive well at night.. and never did...

Carole how NICE to hear from you! How long will you be in AZ? Maybe long enough to come back and visit with us again.

Sheila the trip to WA sounds wonderful... Why not take the truck? And somehow we'll sneak the trailer on the back and you'll never know it's there...ha!! You can take that trailer...Just begin and take it on short trips... The largest trailer I pulled was a 36' one... well, I did pull one bigger...I once pulled a 42' float with an 18 wheeler truck... I had more trouble managing with the truck --- than that 42' trailer... Trailers just follow you!!! grin. I wish you well.. Had you thought of trading the truck and trailer on a smaller MH that would be simpler for you to handle? Just a thought.. Just talk to that brother of yours to get him to help you. I hope you make it to Q!! I know you like it so much there!

Linda and Sue.... good to see y'all on here too... it's like old home week!

Yeah, Sheila...we are all cheering for you.... Talk that trash to the brother... hahahaha!

Happy travels all!

Joella

Joella

think it's a self confidence issue if my brother can go with me my plans are for me to drive him to sit in the panic seat and be there telling me I'm ok hopefully by driving to SLC I will feel confident enough about it that it will be ok to take down to Q cause one way or the other we are going to Q it's cheaper site wise down there and have friends family love them but not enough

as to trading the unit in for something smaller if I owned this one would be a consideration however we didn't get it paid off and unless I'm misreading the papers it's doesn't look like we signed up for the life insurance on it was suppose to have been done we were assured that it was but it sure doesn't look like it however do need to send a death certificute to the place and see what they say.. because we owe more on it than it's worth it would be hard to trade it in and quite frankly I look around and wonder what I would get rid of in order to be in a smaller space and I'm not sure what it would be if I had a s&b place to go "home" to then it wouldn't be hard but this is home and I'm about as pared down as I want to be. Does that make sense? hope so cause with this cold not feeling like I'm making sense.

I understand fully, Sheila. You LOVE your home and don't wish to pare down to a smaller one! Gotcha!!

I hope you are signed up for the Insurance.. Lets pray if it WAS supposed to be--- it IS!!

I can see you in Q and if no other way...I'm betting some of your family will see to it you get there!

I'll see about the Birthday Wishes!! Just for you.... grin..

Love,

Joella
