Last Nov we argued with the Dr when he said no you shouldn't go down to Arizona for the winter we won....and now the winter in almost over...the first night that we have had the door open this late and the fireplace isn't turned on yet...and what a beautiful sunset we had tonight wasn't fast enough to get a picture...but so pretty one of the things I love about Arizona is the night sky and the sunsets and the quit of the desert even with the generator running there is still something about the desert...will miss it. We are going back North with the thoughts that we will probably not be returning and that is such a sorrow for us...but who knows we will see when the fall arrives. Our plans are up in the air for the summer normally go to Island Park to work camp we still want to Dr says no but our dd says you do what is best for you and we will help make it happen...so guess we will think more of presenting an argument with the dr as to why we should be so far away...

What are your summer plans?? Its not that far away

Hi,

I hope to attend a few rving gtg this spring, summer and fall. The fuel prices and work schedule will determine how many I get to attend.

Hopefully, y'all we be able to return to the desert next winter.

I second your daughter's idea. When Bob was no longer able to drive, my youngest son said, "Mom, do what you and Bob want to do. If you need help one of us kids will be there." Well, we travelled for two more years, continued making wonderful memories and I never had to call any of them for help - but I knew I could if I needed to. I live by the motto that life isn't counted by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Enough of my philosophy. My only real plans are to be in Missouri for a family reunion the first of July and then sometime later in the month flying to Alaska to spend a couple of weeks sightseeing with friends. Beyond that - plans are jello.

No set plans for summer - yet. Yes, the diesel prices might have a bearing on things. There is a group meeting at Squaw Lake in Yuma starting 3/1 but that is still in the thinking stages for me right now. I enjoyed my time in Quartzsite in January and could see why people love the beauty of the desert especially in the early morning and evening. Shiela, where will you and Larry go if not to Idaho? Will you just travel around? Hope all is going good with everyone.

Linda

because of his cancer he has become animec has no energy and is in a lot more pain

so if we don't go to Idaho we will move into some trailer park for the long term...The dr actually gave him only 2-3 years. He is to the point where he won't enjoy traveling it wears him out...and as much as I love the campground it may be to much for him just the riding on the dirt road for 2 miles...we have so many decsions to make and don't know how it's going to turn out...well other than we know the ultimate ending the same as it is for all of us...I shouldn't hit submit to this guess I'm feeling over whelmed tonight...

Sheila, I can understand your being bowled over at times by this!! We are with you!!

Just live one day at a time and plan for that day--- If going gets tough on Larry -- y'all can stop then. Perhaps your days could be spent traveling shorter distances to different places! Who knows what the future will bring?

I'm with Sue and share her feelings. I intend to enjoy whatever comes in my days and do the best I can for me and mine!

God Bless the two of y'all!

Joella

Yeah, Sheila - ya do what ya gotta do. That's the advice you and the other gals gave me when I lost my hubby.

You and Larry will need to stay where you can - perhaps in some favorite spots, or near friends or family - whatever Larry can tolerate. When setting up or packing up becomes too difficult you may need to stay put, or have someone help. I've heard some people find a nice long-term park near a medical facility for treatment, doctors who understand RVers, and fellow campers with similar problems.

Of course you are overwelmed right now. Who wouldn't be? But together you will form a plan. And know that you have a bunch of friends on line cheering you on.

Shiela - I am so glad I got to meet you and Larry in January in Q. You two are just the nicest and giving people. Hope Larry has enough strength to enjoy and you also can keep on keeping on. Prayers for both of you and safe travels. You will find the right solution. He is there for you. Please take care of you and Larry and certainly keep in touch.

Thank you all sure appreciate your kind words

we will go up to Salt Lake City as it's closest to most of our kids

and spend what time he has left ...I never learned how to drive the

truck while towing and he isn't up to teaching me how to now so we will pretty

much anchor down and enjoy what time we have left together and enjoy the kids and

grandkids when we can
