Wake up sleepy heads! Coffee is ready! My coffee maker died and my new one hasn't been delivered so I using my old stove top percolator...it's a little on the strong side...just might but hair on your chest. Haven't been posting much but always read the forum to see what every one else is doing.

We've had an interesting week. Last Sunday a terrible storm went through with torrential rain and high straight line winds. We had been at our annual family reunion camp out and had luckily packed up and came home early that morning because of the extremely high heat and humidity. The weather that day was oppressive to say the least..even hard to breathe. The storm whistles started blowing about 4:45 and the storm hit about five o'clock...we lucked out and didn't have any damage to the outside of our house, trees or camper...but the power was off for over five hours and we did have some wet carpet in the basement because the sump pump wasn't running...minor compared to what others experienced. There were trees on roofs around town, DHs cousin and her husband lost their new machine shed that they had just built two months ago...along with the contents in it...which including their camper that they had hurried and pulled in it after they finished unloading when they came home from the reunion, their pick-up, a combine worth about a quarter of a million plus other farm equipment. Other camping friends were on their way home from an outing with their new to them 2007 Jayco 5er. They were about five miles from home and pulled over to the side of the road because they couldn't see. The wind was hitting them broad side and turned both the camper and pickup into the ditch. Luckily they were fine except for being a little bruised and stiff the next day. Now they're going through the insurance hoops and right now aren't very impressed with Progressive.

Had some good news last night. Sharon/Sprinter is stopping in next weekend. Really looking forward to that...last time she was here was so much fun. Other good news is that I finally have my 30 amp hook-up! So anyone who wants to stop by and park in our side drive is more than welcome!

Have a great day everyone...it appears it's going be pleasant weather today and I just might have to get the garage swept out!

I'll be right there. It's about time for a fresh cuppa!! It's especially time for some good ole girl talk, laughter and fun!!

I am so sorry to hear about all the storm damage. I hope all come out well with their dealings with the various insurance companies on their claims!! Such a shame!!

Sure happy you took the time to post today, and give us an update--- though parts was certainly bad news!! Many are saying they check our Forum to keep up to date...but few are posting and the poor Forum is simply dying on the vine!! This Forum and my friends here are a big part of my daily entertainment... and surely have been missing being able to keep up with everyone.

Let's remedy that. Forum Sisters!!!

Neat our Sharon is coming to see you again, Pat!!! It's a given that will be highly enjoyed!

Enjoy the afternoon!

Joella

Coffee sounds great. Sorry to hear you have had such bad weather. Wind is the scariest thing. Tues. I have to drive over the Mackinaw Bridge and I hope it will not be as windy as it is today. 20 mph with gusts. There is nothing to protect you from the wind and no where to pull over. Guess I will just grit my teeth and go slow, if it is that windy. I am glad Sharon will get to visit with you. Have a great time and have a cup of coffee for me.

What a wind that must have been!!! we had one a week ago weds...remember was on the chat line and compaining about the wind how bad it was then all the sudden it stopped!!! just cold turkey stopped... the next day heard trees were down up river along the trail said I would report it. Then on Sat heard about trees down on the other trail. But really didn't think to much about as had seen lots of people going on the trail. Then on Sunday Sharon and Kerry were here so we decided to go on the trail and locate some huckleberries so they could taste them. Was totally amazed at how many trees were down. When the forest ranger went to check it out said just at the begining there was 7 fir trees I don't know how many were further down the trail... The path has now been opened all the way... Not the monetary damage that your cousin and others had but it was a wicked wind and I can apprieciate it...

So good to see you so enjoy your posts and have missed you so much

It's a little late for coffee for me, I don't sleep as it is. Might have something to do with drinking a pot of coffee for breakfast.

Sorry to hear about your bad weather. Farmers have a hard time without loosing a shed full of equipment.

My sister and her 8 year old grand daughter came for the weekend to go school shopping. She managed to weasel 3 pair of shoes out of her grandmother. They start young. I have a grandson and he's not interested in shopping at all unless it's a toy store.

It's nice you get to see Sharon again. I have been keeping up with her summer trip. Bet she is not looking forward to going back to work.

Wow that was quite a story. Can you imagine how terrifying it would be to be turned over into a ditch.

Sorry Sharon but I think my thermostat is broken too because while I think it must be cool here when I step outside it seems not to be.

My English friends will be here tomorrow and we go to Galveston for two days. I've made reservations for a quick RV trip to Navarro Mills Lake the second weekend in Sept. Another RV friend mentioned it and thought I would check it out.
