Across the nation, we are all experiencing such a heat wave. Some locations are getting high temps, not usual to them, and we are all wishing for a cooler weather reprieve!!

Unfortunately, we don't have an extended Spring and Fall... We certainly don't like nor appreciate Summer. Therefore, our favorite season of the year is Winter!! Living in a very mild winter area, we look forward to our winters!! We cozy up to our wood stove. We have no high electric bills, since we run no central heat--- depending entirely upon our wood stove for our comfort. It's really strange, but if it gets to 82* in the house with the air conditioner it is miserable. With the wood stove it's cozy!!

I am SO ready for Winter to get here---- and it's still a long time coming!

We'll just have to commiserate with each other, stay in and stay cool, entertaining ourselves by logging onto this Forum and enjoy visiting!!

Wait Wait-- lets try to have Fall before we jump into Winter. This heat has been unbearable-- I have a 9 year old buddy that I take camping every summer -- Of course the weekend we went -- the temp. was 100 degrees - the Lake felt like bath water.
I just hope we have some Fall weather. In NC we tend to jump right into Winter.

You should be ashamed. Yes the heat and humidity are at times uncomfortable, but at the same time we don't want to wish our lives away any faster than they are rushing by. Winter in New England is not something to look forward to unless you ski, snowmobile, snowshoe, ice skate or ice fish. I DO NONE OF THESE. Hibernation is the word for me.

It will be interesting to see the boys burrowing in the snow instead of forging trails through it as my shelties have done. We lost our 13 y.o., Miss Ripley on July 30th so the boys don't even have a big dog to forge the path for them.

God I so look forward to the day I leave before the first snow flake and come back after the last one has fallen. I will be happy if I only see snow from the bottom of a snow covered mountain so I don't have to shovel it, drive through it or walk on it.
