The weekend is here---- and since temps are projected for 100+....we are just taking it easy.. Been working outside mornings. Cleaning out woodshed storage room and workshop as well. Called son to come help a tad...and we gave him some goodies.

He got a large washpot; small washpot; cast iron Dutch Oven with lid and fry basket...and a gas burner on legs to cook with to go with it. Also sand blaster, and metal wagon wheels. He made a haul.

We've been cutting low hanging limbs from the cedar trees on the back fenceline. Milt noticed how low they were and neighbors could no longer ride under them to mow..So,cut off a trailer load and hauled them to the burn pile area. Now maybe the neighbors will speak to us again!!!

Did some garden tending, flowerbed weeding, bedding plant transplanting...all the things that need doing if you wish your home to look presentable... Ah! to be living in a RV park and let that be someone else's mess to do!!! Grin.

Milt did the majority of the work....I just held the dumb end!!! However, we earned our do-nothing weekend!

Have fun and keep in touch... Enjoy hearing what my Forum sisters are up to, even when it's not traveling!

Happy RVing!

Joella

Let's see...what interesting things am I doing today? Laundry...one in the washer, one in the dryer. Actually cooked a nice breakfast...hashbrowns, ham, toast and an egg for Miss Helen...no egg for me! Have a list as long as my arm of to-do's but...its too HOT! Watching the Mystery Woman marathon on Hallmark Channel...for now LOL. I have seen them all but nothing else is interesting for the time being. Hope everyone is having a more exciting day!

Hi girls :)

Left Washington this morning heading for Montana. Currently, I'm sitting in the parking lot at Cabelas in Post Falls, Idaho eating a BLT for lunch ;) Stopped by here to pick up some bear spray before I head to Glacier and Yellowstone. Just thought I'd check in on y'all. Sure hope those Texas temps calm down by the end of the month. I'm spoiled now ;)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Love,

Sharon

I'm doing what you are doing, trying to stay out of the heat. I went to Lafayette to pick up my son. He didn't want to go shopping with me so we had lunch and came home. He had fried catfish topped with a spicy crabmeat sauce and I had fried crawfish. It was really good. I can't eat like that very often. No plans for the rest of the weekend.

Went to the grocery store to pick up some basics and got us a really nice steak for dinner. Came home and started working in the garden. I'm taking up some flagstones on the back patio because they have sunk and when it rains dirt stuff piles up at the lower end of the patio. I'm taking out the stones, building up the bed underneath, putting the stones back and then mixing concrete and sand to fill in around them and watering it in. Want to try and stop all the weeds from coming up anymore. When it was to hot to do that I starting trimning some branches off a couple of trees and the climbing roses.

Made us a very nice dinner. Grilled the steak and made green beans and mashed potatoes to go with it along with sliced tomatoes. We ate about half the steak and when I was putting up the leftovers I could find the steak. So I started looking for big dog, Joe. Sure enough he was on Vic's bed having his 'found' dinner. Vic got what was left and cut it up for the other 3 dogs. I had planned on a couple of steak sandwiches from that!

Tomorrow I will go to a visitation before the funeral of Hannah's godfather. Then I will take her with me so her Dad can attend the funeral. We'll get lunch or come home and go to the pool. We spent 6 hours yesterday submerged in water. Four hours at Splashtown and then another two at the neighborhood pool.

At this very moment I am proped up in bed on the laptop getting ready to check into the chat room. Then I'll read before going to bed.

babysitting my 5 grandkids this weekend!!! set of twins age 4 then a 7, 9 and 11 year old. They have gone to bed I hope. They are out in the guest house (tent) set up for those that come visit....and it's raining so we will see how long they stay out there

it is wearing me out to actually cook be it kid meals but then there is more to feed...they have been glued to the tv not sure that is great but take into consideration that they don't have tv when digital came in they were in area that they couldn't get tv stations anymore. So they have dvd's and net flex. We have a really slow weekend full but today only had one leave and yesterday think it was one or two a few more than that tomorrow so guess the oldest will have to watch the kids so I can help dh

thinking it could make doughnuts but not sure that it will happen we will see. our dd comes on Monday for the kids.

And reading this book hopefully will finish it tonight! really good called Winters Garden

You and Milt work to hard. I get tired just reading everything you do. You too, Vicki. Moving pavers is no easy task. I am sitting in the campground club house using their internet service. If I try to use mine, it is iffy at best and it is routed though Canadian towers (which are not on my plan....can you say $$$$$$) I have not been able to get on Chat which is a real bummer. I have been relaxing after a month of company. You know, you are on the go everyday, and although I like it, It is nice to just sit and read a book. I had to buy a 100' cable to get my VuQube out from under the trees. I now have TV. I watched one of the Mystery Women's shows last night too Alice. I hadn't seen that one before. I do not leave here until the 10th, but plan to visit Frankenmuth on my way to Mackinac Island. I have to do some planning today, while I have access to the internet. Also plan to get some more books sent to my Kindle. I am so glad I bought it as I do love to read, but I have no space for books. It is 77 right now. Yesterday I woke up to 63 degrees. That is the coolest I have been since last winter. Feels wonderful. Have a great weekend, everybody

Karen, did you get the 100' cable from the VuQube company or is there a way to use a regular cable. Where we go at the lake we are at the very end of the cable to get a signal.

Vickie, Joe is like my cat Possie, any unattended food is fair game. Yesterday a neighbor brought us some pie to thank my DH for taking care of their horse while they were out of town. I made the mistake of leaving some pie on the counter and when we looked Possie was having pie. I think she is the only cat we have had that likes sweets. I should have named her Mikie because she will try just about anything.

I need to pull the grass that is coming up in my rose bed but it's just too hot. There was a snake in there a couple of weeks ago so I'm afraid to stick my hand in there. Need to get the weed eater out and use that for some of it and make sure the snake has moved on.
